If Falcao goes to Monaco at the prime of his career, it pretty much shows he has absolutely no ambition. I'd be very surprised to see him go there.

why does it show no ambition, monaco are a very exciting project just like psg and just like us. And who wouldnt want to live in monaco
He's one of the best strikers in the world at the moment. You don't go to a "project" if you're one of the best in the world in the prime of your playing career. When City was still a project you couldn't attract players like this. You've only been able to get them since cementing your place in the top 4. I don't believe Ibrahimovic would have gone to PSG if he was 26 and not already been through Barca, Milan etc. Nor would RVN have gone to Malaga had he not been in the twilight of his career. Eto'o in Russia etc.

If he's just doing it to go to Madrid it's a bit of a bait and switch on Atletico. Who knows why players want to go to that circus anyway.

Here is very plausible explanation on a forum about Falcao's likely move to Monaco.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1e8ncw/explaining_the_falcao_move_to_monaco/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments ... to_monaco/</a>

Apparently, he has little say about his next club due to an agreement he signed years ago with investment group that basically owns his transfer rights. Investment group whose main objective is, you guessed it, to make money.

Done deal apparently.........

This is where FFP doesn't work 'cos pay in Monaco is tax free therefore they can pay a lower wage (gross) 'cos the player or manager gets the lot whereas in the UK the government take 45% of not just salary but Worldwide earnings.

Turkish government have cottoned on to this as well and reduced income tax for professional footballers to 15%

Wonder when call me dave and his mates will leap into action before British football slides into the abyss

it looks like hes going there so he can move to real madrid the following season as atletico wont allow the transfer

.
..either that or all part of our FFP plan. Plant Bobby in Monaco, buy Radamel in January for 250k. Piss Madrid off at the same time. Tadaaaaaa

What a travesty this was disallowed :

But Cavani still signing for us, right? please say yes, lie if needed, i just want some postive news for a change.

We've got some Brazilian fans on our forums saying that a South American news agency is reporting he's prepared to sign for us (Chelsea). They say that this same agency is pretty reliable on South American players, having correctly predicted Lavezzi and Silva would go to PSG last year and Suarez to Liverpool when that happened as some examples they gave. Make of that what you will, I don't put faith in any of it - but I'm bored so.

I do believe that Cavani is a point of interest for you because Mancini personally admires him. I think where he'll go hinges on what happens to Mancini in the coming days or weeks. If City plan to replace him, I suspect they'll want a new manager in place before making new signings. Chelsea however has a caution to the wind transfer policy.

The Mirror thinks so: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/edinson-cavani-isco-manchester-city-1886929" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... ty-1886929</a>

Wouldn't be surprised if Cavani joins Chelsea regardless of Mancini's situation.

He could go to Chelsea and be the number one man on huge wages and a short flight away from meeting up with his old pals in Paris.

He could come to City and be competing with Aguero for a starting place, difficult for someone who is so used to playing whenever he wants to deal with I would imagine and be living in Manchester which causes more problems then I think some people think but would still be paid very well.
