City paid a great tribute to Stan at half time , promoting the charity work, City and villa fans all applauded.

Same on VillaTalk too. Fair play to them for not swallowing it:

As someone who is in Block 111 close to the away fans, I didn't hear any derogatory chants about Petrov. As others have said, we were confused about the clapping and it didn't click with me until they'd pretty much finished. Others didn't have a clue until half-time. The "no respect" chants from the Villa fans were obviously aimed at the fact that so few City fans joined in with the applause but the impression I got was that they were having a light-hearted dig and it's perhaps something they chant to opposition fans every week when they don't join in.

I thought the banter between both sets of fans all evening was good-natured. There was very little animosity to speak of apart from a couple of Villa fans on the segregation line who appeared to be mouthing off for most of the match. I'm not sure what rattled them so much - perhaps a couple of our own had riled them - but there were no issues with anyone else amongst their support from what I could see. Villa fans sometimes get a bad press on here due to them seemingly being up there with the most bitterest of opposition fans since the takeover but apart from a minority of dissenting voices on the internet, from my own personal experiences I don't see them as being that bad at all. Villa Park has always been one of the better and more welcoming away days for me.

typical, typical, classless claptrap from the clueless half witted deluded rag twats.....so watch out as indicated in another post about this becoming an exclusive in some paper and people believing it ffs and maybe some of those rag fans who believe it are the ones(3)i met when i worked as a doorman at epsom racecourse (in surrey) who said they were big united fans, and at that time i happened to have a map next to me and i kid you not when i opened it up and said wheres manchester on it and i kid you not(again!!) on this, as they looked at it they pointed to newcastle!!!!!!!!!!!! yes newcastle

Blues who went to the game say it didn't happen.

Villa fans who went to the game say it didn't happen.

Rag bellend on Twitter say's it did.

Type of **** who rings radio phone ins said it did.

Not sure who to believe.

Despicable but then again what do you expect from those cowards?, a great deal was made about the charity ride and Stan and was very warmly applauded by both sets of supporters at half time. They really are the most obnoxious bunch of shithouses in the game and nothing these gobshites do or say suprises me.

Good. I don't give a hoot about what other fans think about our results, our money etc but I do a give a hoot about us Blues being thought to be inhuman lowlife morons of the type that make up a seemingly large proportion of United's support.

I thought it was a little uncalled for when the Villa fans started chanting "no respect, no respect" at the City fans when we didn't join in their minutes applause. I sit just to the right of the away fans and the minute of clapping had virtually finished before I had a clue what they were doing.

Alright lads, us Villa fans know you wouldn't do that and the "no respect" is just a light hearted dig to be honest.

It would be cringey if Villa fans turned into Liverpool playing the "victim" card just because another set of fans didn't clap its just a bit of banter to wind up the home/away fans.

In my experience City fans are nothing but class, of course there is always going to be a bit of resentment as a few years ago we may have been slightly above you lot or on a par, one oil rich owner comes in now we're fighting relegation and you lot are flying!

I've always welcomed the new city competition was fed up of Chelski and Man U having an easy ride so this competition is welcome. (also city started bringing in players I've followed for years Silva, Aguero & Kompany!)

I can tell you now that any City fans before a Home game VP are welcome to come and chat to the home fans as always found city fans a laugh as opposed to the wanker cockney infested utd support.
