FC United thread

FCUM Have a new CEO you have to admire his enthusiasm :)

Damian sees the marketing of the club’s function room and 3G pitches as a priority too and will be using his existing connections with businesses and organisations to bring in income. “We need a facilities company that can stand on its own two feet” he says and thinks that, realistically, it will probably take until the end of the 2017-18 season to achieve this. He is also adamant that we shouldn't underestimate ourselves, emphasising that "the biggest thing about FC is FC, we're unique, the most famous non-league club in the world and companies, particularly those with an ethical outlook, will want to work with us and be associated with FC United".

That is a preposterous statement!!!
Everybody knows that the most famous non-league club in the world are West Auckland FC as they are the first team to win "The World Cup" in 1909 and then successfully defend and retain it in 1911,thus being awarded the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy outright.
(And they had Dennis Waterman as their captain and Tim Healey playing for them.)

How ironic a new guy who wants to improve revenue streams and commercial interests.

Isn't that why they turned their backs on Uncle Malcs sports franchise or at least pretended to.

DARLO! DARLO! DARLO!

Good time in the away end. Threw a 2 goal lead away but nicked a winner with 5 to go.

A flat stand in the away end though? Shite.

I was there.Great finish at the end.

Not sure what to make of them, singing City songs just sounds ridiculous.
Seen their hoolie ex reds a few times but non of them Monday, just looked a miserable set of twats tbh.

The away end is total shite I agree, was on the side and was hard to see everything.

Seems to be a few Blues on here who have a soft spot for Darlo....should do,we gave Salford Red Soxs one up the botty last season too!

FCSCUMS attendances going down,Darlo allowed 650 tickets(to try and stop any potential prob fans travelling) but well below 3000 for what was a big game.

Why would a company with an ethical outlook want to be associated with a non league football team that is deep in the financial shit and previously run by a bunch of fans who had the ethics of trousering as much of the money on themselves and their mates and in most cases with the knowledge of the board.

As for the claim to be the most famous non league team in the world - at least Bernard Manning was sending himself up with his ''world famous'' Embassy Club in neighbouring Harpurhey.
These lot take themselves and their 'ethical club' (we wont dance to the TV demands, oh, unless it is Rochdale away on ESPN) way too seriously.

The usual arrogance and over the top bigging up, the typical trait of all things red.

As said above, love it when the Rags talk like this.

'the most famous in the world' blah, blah, blah.
