Re: Slurgie **Confirmed Retired** (merged)

so what is Mancini's all-time record for us against United?

3 wins 3 losses 1 draw in league?
1 win 1 loss in CC? 1 win 1 loss in FA Cup

Most United fans cacking themselves as Moyes doesn't have any European experience.

He did stand test of time and manged to constantly adapt to change in order to keep on winning, which is something Arsene Wenger (another gifted manager) has failed or refused to do. The other managers you mentioned may be as talented but certainly not as successful and as for Mourinho, well only time will tell how things turn out for him at the end but hes done very well so far and is very skilled at picking the right club to manage at the right time.

Look at Capello's record.

De Bosque has a great record and has WC and Euro as well as club.

Clough matahced Ferguson in Europe.

Paisley I've said.

The difference is these guys didn't stay in a job for two decades, what I find staggering is how they have matched Ferguson in Europe in a shorter time and you can say United were 'lucky' in both finals, if it were not for a couple of last gasp goals and a missed Terry penalty then it's two more runner ups.

Ferguson is without doubt a great manager, one of the greatest I've witnessed but he isn't the best of all time like the media will claim. The best try in different environments which Ferguson didn't do. Ferguson by his own admission didn't do that well in Europe, to be the best you have to excel in that department too.

There are no real stipulations and criteria for the worth and class of a manager and it comes down to opinions and individual assessments but one thing that may be used, as you said, is trophy wins.Ferguson has not dominated in Europe but he has dominated England for the past 20 years. I am of the opinion that longevity, stability and constant maintenance of a high standard is a great positive and an indication of great success, perhaps should be another criterion. The fact that he stayed as long as he did in one club, whilst attaining a threshold of success and beating off rivals like Wenger, Mourinho, Keegan and the others can be estimated by some as being as impressive as winning any European trophy. It isn't though but you have to look at the whole package.

I know its not a good thing to say, but personally I believe he is the greatest manager of all time. But that just my fair and balanced opinion and everybody is entitled to theirs.
Rinus Michels is far superior to Ferguson.

Ferguson replacement

Just scanned through the odds and noted that Corals were offering Howard Webb at 1000:1 to be the scum's next manager, worth a sneaky fiver?

The test is this:-

Would you welcome the news that Moyes was on his way to City? I think not? I for one would be devastated.

Remember to check out Rag Cafe when Moyes loses his first match in charge. The meltdown will be epic. They will make RAWK look like sane people.

Imagine the pressure on him IF his first loss was to us in the charity shield, and i did say IF!

Sections of the crowd will be immediately on his back, which is natural and typical of football fans, this could be what ive been waiting for for over 25 years

The big difference here is that there dressing room is highly influenced by fergie. David moyes is the closet thing to him IMO. Mourinho would change the whole club from top to bottom, done things his way. Moyes will get the guidance of fergie, basically by his little bitch. This is there best appointment they could of made, am I the only one thinking this lol?

Rinus Michels blocked the Johan Cruyff appointment before the WC 1990 because he thought that Cruyff would win the Cup and that was bad for his reputation... Not a very good man

Re: Slurgie **Confirmed Retired** (merged)

On another note, any hope they had of bringing Ronaldo in is gone imho. He'd have come back to play for Ferguson again but now he's packed up it's over in that respect.

''Yeah I'm Falcao, fuck Jose and Mancini, I'll play for Moyes instead''.

Doesn't have the same pull does it.

IMO these are the managers ahead of Moyes. I'd choose all of these Mancini, Wenger, AVB, Laudrup and Benitez.

What does that tell you?
