Probably the greatest manager of all time.I personally respect what he has achieved in the game.

Hopefully, now he is gone utd will become a mid table team by 2016, get relegated by 2020, go into administration, then get shut down for the good of humanity.

Paisley, Del Bosque, Capello, Jose, Clough are all his equals.

He's been one of the best of a current era but Jose will better him when all is said and done. H3e's already equalled the treble and the two European trophies.

Ferguson as good as he is never tested himself on the continent either. He wouldn't have had this power at Madrid.

He did stand test of time and manged to constantly adapt to change in order to keep on winning, which is something Arsene Wenger (another gifted manager) has failed or refused to do. The other managers you mentioned may be as talented but certainly not as successful and as for Mourinho, well only time will tell how things turn out for him at the end but hes done very well so far and is very skilled at picking the right club to manage at the right time.

David Moyes will be named as the new manager of Manchester United in the next 24 hours. The Barclays Premier League champions have agreed to appoint the Everton manager as Sir Alex Ferguson’s replacement at Old Trafford.
Ferguson officially announced this morning that he will retire at the end of the season after 26½ years at the Old Trafford helm this morning and United will now turn to another Scot to take up the daunting task of succeeding one of the greatest managers in football history.
Moyes, 50, is out of contract at Goodison Park in the summer and had declined to commit his future to the Merseyside club beyond the summer.
Bookmakers yesterday slashed the odds on Moyes taking over from Ferguson, although eyebrows will be raised in some quarters at United’s decision.
Despite being widely respected for the job he has done over an 11-year period at Everton, he has never managed in the Champions League proper and has never won a leading trophy in his 15-year managerial career, which also included a four-year stint at Preston North End.
Ferguson was six years Moyes’s junior when he pitched up at Old Trafford in 1986, although by that time the Scot had already broken the Old Firm stranglehold on Scottish football by steering Aberdeen to three league titles, four Scottish Cups and the European Cup Winners’ Cup
