Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham Official Twitter Accounts all wishing him well. Interestingly, we have said nothing!

I know I am going to get a panning for this, but whoever they bring in next still has a platform for them to be successful. If they bring Moyes in, they will still be there or thereabouts and challenging. They are not going away any time soon. They will not be doing a Liverpool any time soon.

AS always, be careful what you wish for. I can remember 1989 and them all singing "Fergie Out" and us singing "Fergie Must Stay".

No panning at all here. Very good point, this.

1. David Moyes - British, aggressive, solid character and had done pretty well at Everton. The most Ferguson-esque of the 3
2. Laurent Blanc - Highly rated manager, out of work and ex player
3. Mourinho - brilliant record, solid character.

In that order of likeliness, imo.

Think Gary Neville will be involved as well.

Obvious favourite is Moyes. Able to spot talent and spends wisely. Also doesn't phase him playing youngsters and getting best out of them.

Mourinho only does well by spending shed loads and building a new team. He won't be able to do that at the scum.

Whys is everyone so sure Moyes couldnt cut it there?

What's he won at Everton?

God forbid we lose v Wigan but if we did Martinez would have won more!

Moyes will do a good job but not a great one, the thing is Unoited are a juggernaut and they need an elite manager. They've had a top 3 manager for the last 25+ years and now they don't. They have a good manager who's relatively untested and it's a huge leap of faith.

There is good reason the kopites sing 8 more years.

Re: Slurgie **Confirmed Retired** (merged)

Please let it be Moyes, won nothing in 12 years at the blue dippers.

Class as always rises to the top:

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany: "Sir Alex, one of the best managers of all time. After 26 years of success in the game, we all owe him a tribute."

Well done Vincent
