Can't even be upset at his performances, it was inevitable. He turns 34 next year & is fresh off another World Cup disappointment. His levels were bound to drop.

Txiki simply should've sealed the Jorginho deal instead of haggling like an idiot. He walks into our team.
Did you not follow the transfer? we can't make a player come here

No chance he'll be rested against Cardiff. Gundo could play in his position but he's too soft in a deep lying role against teams like Cardiff that tries to bully opposition's more talented players. Unless Pep plays Zinchenko at LB and Delph slots into DM role.

He definitely needs resting for Oxford. It’s time to put the LC on the back burner now. Play the kids and anyone who needs some time. Leave Fernandinho at home with his feet up.

Should play Gundogan at DM and Merlin and Bernardo in front of him against the dippers IMO. Don`t think Dinho can deal with their high press

Very, very worrying. He looks like his legs are shot and his confidence with them, and Pep is running him into the ground.

It's October. Gonna take some doing to get him to January.

Gundogan is such an enigma as a player though. I don’t see that working. Fernandinho is dallying on the ball too much now though. Liverpool will target him. I think attack is our best form of defence in this one.

Doesn't help that he's the only midfielder defending when Gundogan and Silva still around the 18 yard box

Simply,an accident waiting to happen or already happening against any side with attacking ambitions..Not rocket science to figure out why he is like this and how as a club we are in this situation.
Should stop over reacting though as he is a centurion and was amazing last season!1!1!

Just think he needs a speedier friend nearby (like foden) to give him options or to have gotten in better position to have gotten the ball instead in the first place (aka, kev obv when he’s back). The biggest problem isn’t his defensive work, it’s his strangely slow decision-making on the ball...but I think he’s in that spot more now because of kdb’s general absence.

He is back in the situation he was with with yaya, doing all the defensive work on his own esp when he plays with gundy or just dave,he is too old for that caper again

We need Kevs energy and work rate back in midfield. I’ve got a feeling Peps going to play Kev a bit deeper this season to help out Fern.
I think you are right, the old dinho is still in there but he needs help,i think when kev comes back we will realise just how much better we are with him in the team

Kev is our most important player, not just because of his contribution towards goals, it’s because he leads from the front with his drive and work rate. There’s been something evidently missing so far this season with our general play and it’s definitely because of the absence of Kev.

He looks tired, which no one could've possibly seen coming.

He’s started all 7 league games and played the full 90 in 6 of them, it’s ridiculous. Why did he play 90 minutes at the weekend for example?

I guess Delph's injury could be a factor, because in theory he could fill in, or because Kev's injury forced Gundogan to play further forward (lest we play Phil Foden actual minutes), but Pep's complete lack of rotation for Fernandino is a huge and growing failure in my opinion. He looks tired, and his overall level has clearly dropped since last season. Which OF COURSE was going to happen because he's 33 years old, played a ton last season, and had a very abbreviated offseason between the World Cup and the slightly early start to the Premier League.

In our first Champions League week he plays 90 minutes against Fulham (leading 3-0 after 47 minutes), four days later plays 90 against Lyon, then three days later plays 74 minutes against Cardiff (leading 3-0 at the half).

This week he'll play 90 minutes against Brighton (leading 2-0 and in complete control after 65 minutes), 90 against Hoffenheim, and surely another 90 at Anfield on Sunday. Why? Where is the squad management?
