His reading of the game means him sweeping up for an aggressive Otamendi might suit them both.

He defies age. Looked the best centre half by a mile - could see him staying there when Laporte returns and would be goof to let Otamendi leave.

I agree, but hopefully it's something the club are prepared for. Kompany and Otamendi got/get booked all the time (especially early) and didn't/don't get sent off.

I suppose the fear is him picking up a 2 game suspension for accumulated bookings before Laporte's back.

Really surprised to see that actually, three more in CL though to be fair. Still less than it seems for whatever reason.

I’ve probably said this previously. But he (and Walker) have been our most consistent players this season.

Although I don't want him at CB, if he does move there permanently, I can see him playing for at least another two seasons.
