Did we actually go into the season with only one trustworthy CB? Weren't Stones and Otters expected to perform much better (i.e, weren't they trustworthy at season's start); too, I may be wrong, but wasn't Kompany's departure a bit unexpected?

To top things off, we were getting FFP pressure about our past dealings - a modest last-summer transfer window was probably forced upon us somewhat.
