Led to believe that Fernandinho to Manchester City deal is dead in the water. Shakthar wanting more money after fee agreed

Hope its not truee : /

I struggle to believe anything from twitter. It's populated by wums and narcissists.
this guy also said Thiago deal is near done though. Not sure what to believe. This would be really annoying as I was looking forward to this, we need pace and some ball winning in midfield as we are lacking in that, Fernandinho would solve this.

Plenty more footballers in the sea that can run around alot and pass a ball

The same guy tweeted this: "Manchester City are supposedly interested in an English player, not believed to be Wayne Rooney. #MCFC #MUFC"

LOL, so it could be, almost, any one of the many thousands of English footballers out there? Convinced he's a WUM, and it also seems like he's copy other people's tweets without crediting them

Please let it be Phil Jones! We will walk the League next year then!

Let's not be silly now, Phil Jones was born in the centre circle of Old Trafford and Fergie signed him up just minutes later. He's their greatest youth team product since Luke Chadwick.

If Rodwell stays fit then I would question the need for this player, unless we sold Garcia to make a spot for him.

Can't see it though can you?

I really hope this deal is still on

We desperately need more mobility in midfield, the champs league games have highlighted this massively

It doesn't sound good though does it....

Based on many (potentially misleading) videos I would be very happy to have him at City. I think we could actually have two effective centre midfield pairings in Yaya-Fernandinho and Rodwell-Garcia.

Rodwell-Garcia

Even Garcia finds that suggestion amusing
They played well together the few times we could line them up in that fashion.

expect a bid for rodwell from moyes.

I'd like us to keep Rodwell, bags of potential, saw what he could do V Norwich.

If he went to the rags that would be a disaster!

They did, indeed. Garcia brings the positional awareness and tackling, while Rodwell provides the speed and forward-thinking.

Yaya-Fernandinho would do the same.

Yaya-Rodwell would be too lightweight but Fernandinho-Garcia (from what I have seen) might even work well, too.

Garcia has improved much more than others have given him credit and I think he is more than just a squad player. I hope we do not sell him after one season but who knows, this is football, after all.

I think Rodwell and Fernadinho would be an absolute nightmare for most attackers. Their energy and gung-ho is actually quite scaring.

Agreed, if Rodwell can find any sort of fitness it has the makings of a top class midfield, especially if we have Yaya in front and back to his 2011 form.

Really? You heard something or just a hunch?

Cant see us doing business with them, especially for a player with such potential.

Is he nailed on to come here? Who are our backup options?; I like Fernando Lucas Martins, similar player to Ze Roberto and Anzhi's Diarra. I think he could play in the makelele role or is capable of playing box to box; very competant tackler, good dribbler, neat passing, FK taker and a decent shot on him.
