I agree that Milner should be given a chance as a defensive midfielder. He puts his all into games and should be rewarded. I cannot see any benefit for having Fernandinho in the team, 100% I would rather have Barry in there. People say he is not a defensive midfielder, so why play him. I heard a Spanish journo talking on the radio saying that when Demichellis is fit he will play def mid. Maybe we have been spoilt having De Jong and Barry in that position but IMHO Fernandinho is just not upto it.
I might scramble my account password here if Demichellis plays defensive midfielder. He makes Garcia look like Usain Bolt. Most here would implode in 30 seconds. Also Milner doesn't have the discipline to sit in front of the defense in my opinion.
What is this idiotic obsession that Demichelis is some Mertesacker II in terms of pace?
He really isn't that slow, okay he isn't Usain Fucking Bolt but he ain't a slouch, in fact I wouldn't say he's any slower than Lescott, or even Nastasic.
Also, assuming he is too slow, surely that would make him MORE suited to defensive midfield. I mean, where have Garcia's weaknesses been most exposed? Oh yeah, centre-back.
You misunderstand me. I don't think a dedicated defensive midfielder needs a great amount of pace. I think positioning and reading the game is far more important.

I'm talking about Bluemoon's tendency to obsess over pace.

Pace isn't needed, interesting. Maybe someone could tell Pep that before we play them over there.

Luckily Fernandinho has pace and can read the game.

I just hope he turns the corner like Silva did but right now he's not fit to lick Barry's boots.

Mike we seem to watching a different player, the one I am seeing is doing just fine

I seem to be the Adrian Durham of this board sometimes but some people really need to wake up and smell the coffee on this. We spent 30 f*ckin million yes thats 30!!!!! on a player not who is constantly overlooked in the national side. Despite being constantly lambasted by every pundit I can think of the happy clappers will sit her like the churchill dog nodding there heads denying we've bought a dud. I only wish we could run a sky match cam on him and show people his sloppyness and his general all around bad play.

lol hes on another level to Barry

He's a different style of player. But in a crunch game, I'd have Barry - more reliable.

In a crunch game, especially on the road, it's clear we should have both.
