Javi was positionally aware which is what you need in that position

Fernando wouldn't get anywhere near any other midfield in the top 4 and yet we play him every week

For fuck sake how hard is it given £20 million to buy a decent player. truth is, neither of these players would have been on the madrids, barcas or munichs radar so why did we go after them. seems to me that we buy players and then try to justify them not been a disaster. can anyone remember the last time we bought an undiscovered gem?

The player we should have bought (Fernandez) went to Bayern. Matic went back to Chelsea, Cabaye went to PSG. Others better than Fernando went to other teams.
Fernando has been poor for a while now. No sign of improvement.

That first goal was absolutely schoolboy stuff yesterday from Fernando. It was so obvious what was going to happen if he tried to side the way he did with the Boro player being on that side. If he'd have just slid it it to the left there was no problem. Can't believe he wasn't the first one subbed once we went behind. He offers nothing going forward and its not as If he was doing anything effective defensively.

It was obvious to everyone in the ground....bar him!

Hopefully we can find a buyer in the summer like we amazingly did for Garcia because this lad is not good enough by a long way.

The issue is we're replacing intelligent, composed but unathletic players (Garcia, Nastasic, soon Demichelis) with stronger, faster players with absolutely no tactical awareness (Fernando, Mangala).

The pace, pace, pace brigade are happy but realistically we're worse off.

Ultimately to play for City you have got to be able to play the game. It's no good winning the ball then giving it away. It's no good if every second touch is a tackle.

The needy need a scapegoat, last season it was Garcia they got their wish he went, the scapegoat is now his replacement

Somewhat ironic that the two best performers in recent weeks have been Navas and Fernando and yet these are the players who are getting stick

The players that have played way below their normal level are Kompany and Aguero. Kompany has been a liability in the last two games. I thought his attitude yesterday was really bad. Instead of defending, when he got the ball he was trying to beat the forwards. What's the point of that when you're in your own half. Aguero is getting better, but in one way he really should not be starting. The only reason he is, is because he's such an asset when he's on the top of his game and that will happen quicker if he plays more games.

I think Fernando has been playing games recently because we've been without other players. He's a Makele type. His deficiencies with the ball at his feet are shown up when we play a defensive team. Much of what he does is missed by fans who only see flicks and one twos
