Correct - he wanted to come in Jan - Not his fault Porto and City could not agree a fee - Irony of all this was he was desperate to play in world cup and that was how Porto put pressure on him to sign a new contract. FIFA have taken that opportunity away from him now....

He thought he would be eligible to play for Portugal -- Porto said he'd rot in reserves if he didn't sign a new deal and instead signed with us on a Bosman. Would you be willing to give up your World Cup dreams after trying to achieve them your whole life? Probably not.

I, for one, would love to see this level of dynamism and ability in our team next season.

The way the maximise the value of their players can only be admired.
