Three points:
1) can they afford it?????
2) I hope so, that is a good profit
3) why would anyone want to go the Barcelona right now? They will struggle to get into the Europa Cup.

he must have really hated his time in Manchester, cash in!

The fee is probably light but acceptable. If we were looking to sign him from another club we'd be looking at closer to Grealish figures though. Will be interesting to see how big of a buyout clause they give him, I suspect it won't be many millions short of the pedri one.

Wish him well but he won't be missed. Didn't get his invisible man tag from nowhere, rarely invovled in the game if he's not scoring, which would be fine if he was a ruthless clinical goalscorer but he isn't. he's somebody that was filling in as that for us without ever being good enough at it to make that his main role yet that was the only way he was ever getting in the side.

About a year ago I said Cole Palmer would be doing just as much as Torres was in games if he was given the same chances. I had a lot of backlash from those that wanted to believe Torres was Fernando reincarnated and a future balon d'or certainty (the same people that are now no doubt saying £50million is a great deal) Fast forward a year, Palmers on the verge of getting those chances and showing all the signs of being able to do far more than Torres at a younger age too.

Might not leave us short right now considering he's been out for a while and he's way down the pecking order but a few injuries/covid can change that quickly. numbers wise were not the biggest squad, nowhere near actually, seems a risk to reduce squad numbers at this current time. Don't expect a replacement until the summer.

Apparently he's not unhappy or homesick or anything of the sort at City. It's just that Barcelona have convinced him he'd be better off there, and it seems he's in full agreement.
They must be quite the persuasive bullshitters then!
Or maybe they know something that the rest of us don’t such as potential business at City?

FFS. This is supposed to be an intelligent football discussion board! To answer your question, yes he is arguably the most prolific goal scorer in Serie A (that's the Italian Premier League to you, Wythenshawblue) and he is only 21 years old.
It’s a legitimate question. We know how prolific he has been but we don’t know whether he is good enough to play at the level City are at.

Well and truly triggered

Wants to go home. A good player who will score lots of goals wherever he goes. Maybe this will give Palmer more chances in the first team, or maybe Pep thinks there's someone new coming in - like a Norwegian?
Noah Solsjaer? Nah not for me
