Sure, no issue with 4-5 years at 60-70m thats fine. That seems to be the norm these days. If they somehow got him cheaper over the same time frame i'd be miffed or the 70 but over 10 years or something like that, urgh. It would feel like a favour when they don't deserve extra consideration. At least in my opinion they don't.

If we get anything close to £70mil for him we should slide some £ Luis Enrique's way. Would be worth half that if you only value him based on performances for us.

He has been ok mostly, not exactly looked a world beater. If we could sell him to Barca and keep Sterling that would be a good window. I doubt we will add anyone until the summer - Palmer and McAtee will (and rightly so) get more game time.

As funny as it sounds I feel like his value is quite inflated at the moment. Never would I want my club to spend 60m+ on him. National team performances (not indictive of club level) and him being injured and not regularly on bench seems to have done wonders.
Just sell and invest in an actual striker.

I'm still extremely sceptical that Barcelona have the necessary funds to do a deal, but the story does seem to be gathering momentum. Surely we must be looking to sign a striker in January if we allow Torres to leave.

There’s no doubt he is a top talent, but his character seems a bit odd and aloof.

Maybe he has supreme self confidence and will turn out to be in the PR37 mould, but not sure he has that talent.
