Fifa to clamp down on City and Chelsea business model

Like most rules this will have an impact on the players it wasn't intended to target.

Clubs won't give up on the profit making loans, or highly rated players with a chance of breaking through but the likes of Tosin, Barker, maybe Nmecha etc will see out their contracts playing in the U23s rather than getting experience of senior football.

We could maybe sell some (with or without buybacks) but that's not always an easy thing to do with kids. Lower league clubs don't want to commit limited resources to unproven players.

Sell them for £500k to a smaller club, paid in instalments. First payment is what their wages would cost for the year. Buy back clause of £500k minus what they've paid in the first instalment.

Small club gets a player for free for 1-2 years, our player gets experience.

This wouldn't change Mangala's status at all.

We couldn't find a buyer in the summer because he was injured.

He can't play for us because there's no room.

The only change would be we'd have to find a buyer in Jan not a loan club. However, if there's limits on loans, there will be much fewer available loan players on the market, especially senior players, so potential destination clubs won't have alternative loanees to choose from and will just be forced to buy.

Then you have to consider who would pay a fee when he's available for free 6 months later.

Someone who needs a CB now. We're not talking about a marquee player here, if someone is picking up Mangala - a player on huge wages with a bad injury record and low reputation as a defender - on loan in January it's because they desperately need someone ASAP.

Just for argument's sake let's say this rule was in effect now and we had the maximum number of players loaned out, then take Mangala returning from injury, due to squad size restrictions there's no place for him in the squad and we're not permitted to loan him out, the rules will ensure that he's left without any football for 6 months despite him being fit and able, seems harsh.

Mangala hasn’t been injured throughout the last 3 years mate. We’ve hardly given him a game. Also, some Clubs take players who are recovering from in jury and complete the rehab with them.

so the 2020 / 21 season kicks in with limitations on players out on loan.

Make way for player rental and pay as you play !

How will this affect the clubs we loan them to? Some, obviously, can’t afford to buy that is why they take the loan.

Can’t see how they can stop us ‘lending’ out players to clubs we own or have control over.

Good idea, but The twats will then put a new rule banning this. They hate us, and, to a lesser extent, Chelsea

The only way we going to get a B team is revamp it have a premier league 2 with the top 6 teams aloud to have B team in the premier 2 with the 18 other teams make it financially incentive for the other 18 teams and it will happen. Premier clubs need B team because the likes of Foden Diaz have no football whatsoever! It needs to happen.
