Many media outlets e.g. TalkSport and Sky Sports News have pushed the “respect” line and totally agreed with the Football cancellation. BBC's Radio 5 Live is the exception. Different presenters have said, as we have here, that the fans should have had the chance to gather together and pay respect to the queen during the matches. Good on you BBC.
Are they suggesting that cricket, rugby etc are being disrespectful?

From the Mail talking about the nonsensical decision to postpone games. Doesn’t mention any specific clubs but I think we all know who they may be alluding to.

Concern that tributes to the Queen may not have been universally respected — and the potential for global embarrassment in the event of any dissent from fans — was a factor in the decision to call off all football in the United Kingdom this weekend.

A number of Shamrock Rovers supporters caused outrage by singing offensive songs during their Europa Conference League game against Swedish club Djurgardens on Thursday evening.

And while their actions are likely to have stemmed from Irish Republican sentiment, the fact that some English clubs also have politicised elements of their fan base was mentioned in the discussions over football’s shutdown

Several Premier League clubs appear to have implicitly recognised this danger themselves, as they opted to disable the reply function on Twitter after posting messages of condolence to the Royal Family on Thursday evening.

This was presumably an attempt to avoid inciting a backlash from anti-monarchists on a forum that is not renowned for reasoned debate.
Fucking Dippers, fuck right off!

What happens to tickets bought on the exchange, are they refunded?

Presumably there are sellers that can now attend the rearranged fixture whenever it may be.

This is what democracy is about..im glad im allowed to be a republican...but i wouldn't boo the passing of anybody. Racing prob has a fair few who sharre my repubkican sentiments but wouldn't disrespect the dead..foofball..just a greater risk for some reason

Hard to believe that the season started earlier and yet there is a possibility of going into October having played only 6 league games.

32 games and a World Cup in the mix to follow.

Going to be a case of who can cope best with the revised schedule.
Hard to believe yet we the working class mugs are expected to pay through the nose for a working mans past time and get shafted left right and centre.

All these games will be shunted to mid week during winter meaning loads will be missing games and therefore losing money.

TV fans are not affected but the authorities are making match day attendance less attractive season on season.

Football needs a reality check, pissing fans about too much.

This morning, on TalkSport, a cricket representative was asked to explain why cricket is going ahead. He replied that in the case of the 3rd Test Match, it couldn't be postponed because SA were going home the day after the match. Last night, similarly, the organiser of the Newcastle mini marathon on Sunday was asked why that was going ahead. No suggestion of disrespect from the presenters on either occasion.

Considering she was carrying out her duties a couples days previous I suppose it was somewhat a shock.

Agree with many on here no need to cancel the fixtures this weekend IMHO.
Welcoming that pair of Tory c***s Boris and Truss when she should have been resting by the sounds of it!
