Fixtures Calendar - 2023/24

I dont mind 8pm Saturdays. Think it will be a good event, big game. Better than a Monday night at that time. Were all planning on having a right tear up all day, atmosphere will be rocking hopefully, unless we peak too early... :)
I've never been keen on saturday lunchtime games. Friday night would strike me as having more potential for atmosphere (under the lights etc). Though I can see how it'd be a pain for anyone with a last train to catch.

Yah, I dont like the early games on a Sat. Always flat atmosphere wise...

Tbh I don’t care what time it is on a Saturday, all KO times work. You can make a day of it whatever the KO time is. 12.30pm start? Great, come 3pm and you’re in town with the afternoon and evening ahead of you.
Sundays are the real thumbs down day for me.

All this talk of the Premier League bending over backwards to accommodate overseas viewers makes no sense.

They receive more money from UK television deals than they do from all the foreign TV agreements combined.

Playing devils advocate though mate, “yeah, but where’s the biggest potential for growing the audience?”

Yeah I get that mate. But people with a casual interest abroad are never, ever going to pay anything like what we do over here for Sky Sports etc.

They can bang on about millions of football crazy Indians all they like. But when most of them are earning less per month than a Sky subscription over here, the potential in terms of what they’ll pay is a lot more limited.

That’s also true yep, but then isn’t there a fast growing ‘middle class’ for want of a better phrase in countries like India and China, and with the total numbers in those countries it doesn’t need big percentages of the population interested and with some disposable income, to make them a market of genuine consideration.

All that said mate, I probably agree with your general thrust that, at the moment certainly, the timings of individual games for foreign markets is a secondary consideration. (But doesn’t mean it’ll stay that way …)
