And yes, the reason that I was given the moniker of flatcap Mike was to do with me having a pop at the then manager AB. There were two "Mikes" that used called in before and after matches. The other was Mike Peck. So Piccadilly used it to know which one it was. So...there is a update for you.

He also had many a ding-dong with a regular rag on the post match phone in, can't remember the guy's name but I think it was him who coined the phrase 'bitter blues'. Flat Cap Mike himself was given his moniker as he who always be calling out Alan Ball and out of frustration, I think, he would slag off the squeaky one for his choice of head gear. Moving on a few years, I think Mike gave up on City as he got some involvement with a local non-league club which may have been Stalybridge Celtic. Someone here will possibly remember.

I remember Flatcapmike well from listening to the phone ins back in the day before internet fans forums. Always spoke well, defended City, gave the rags stick and was always funny. Often wondered what happened to him, so I'm glad he resurfaced with an update.
 
I'm not called Mike but I do have a flat cap, very trendy these days don't you know.

Good to know you're still around,and also still a blue !
I thought it was Tommy Doc that christened you " flat cap " or maybe stannidge or both !
every time you were on you gave as good as you got,and boy did we need some defending back then !

I remember you always got on and had a laugh with Tommy Doc,I think I remember once him volunteering to help us out in the dark days ,after Harftord ,Coppell and Phil Neal etc a lot of alcohol under the bridge for me and the 90's are a bit hazy for me.
Up the blues.
