Flooding in Stockport

One big factor as well is people converting gardens into parking areas, we did this but used resin with drainage at the top, the permeability of resin with the permeable base underneath the water running down our drive is mainly caught in the drain we had fitted at the top however anything else doesn’t get further than 1/4 way down (for now ) compared to our old drive it flooded into the garage like next door.
I’ve seen loads who just smack down tarmac or patterned concrete, so everything just runs off it and doesn’t soak away, I think any new builds should have this as standard (if they don’t already). I’m even going to look into some sort of barrier I can put up in emergency should the need arise, maybe cost about £500 but long term could save a fortune and peace of mind.

All I see is the fallen leaves getting blown by guys with blowers and not getting picked up. Where do the fallen leaves end up ?
I was working with my Dad on a house for a few days once. On the Monday the Gardner at a house on one side of the street blew the leaves across the road to the other pavement, on the Thursday the same lad was back blowing them over to the initial side of the street he’d blown them from on the Monday.

i live in Heald green, dry as a bone round my way, what part of Heald green

edit ( Queensway south )? going down towards galley
I'm on Outwood Drive and many of the back gardens on our side (Finney lane side) were flooded yesterday morning, fortunately nowhere near the house but it just showed how much rain had come down. Virtually all soaked away this morning.

East Didsbury looks like the seaside today.Parrs Wood fields under at least six feet of water, houses opposite on Manchester Road flooded,Waterside Hotel evacuated during the night and cars in their car park literally floating
Fletcher Moss looking bad,no road access to Cheadle from Parrs Wood.Apart from that,Happy New Year everyone!!!
