Florentino Luís

This is how modern market and scouting works. You either take risks and get them young and inexperienced, or pay exorbitant sums for readymade players. Joao Felix had a 'massive' €60m release clause just a year ago, look at him now.

Madrid have paid €45m for a 16yo kid and now have a rising superstar on their hands - almost for nothing by current standards.
Watched both these at the time and the quality was there to be seen, this lad it is not at the moment and you do not gamble at that price on a youth that is not necessarily better that your own youth

Guardiola knows that position and what he needs there better than anyone on the planet, I don't know why you're getting worked up about it.

It's not your money, and if Pep thinks he's good enough then he is. Nothing else matters.

If our scouts and Pep think this kid is as incredible as the Benfica fans do, maybe we could do an arranged deal to sweeten the Felix transfer. Offer them the money they'll want in 6 months, but let him stay there for the year and he can come in and replace Fernandinho in the squad directly.

Would also guard against a transfer ban, as pre-arranged transfers are allowed to go through even in a banned window. Plenty of room to get creative as we're in a position of relative strength with the squad as it is.

Who would not want £ 30 million plus for a youth player with less than 10 games most against total garbage? well at least he is bigger and faster than the rubbish Bayern bought

Well, maybe Benfica President learn something from the past. For example, Benfica sold Bernardo Silva (and almost everybody here knew at the time how good he is) to Monaco for only £ 13 million (and Bernardo only played 3 games in Benfica first team) .
Florentino is a great and special player but mainly in the defensive aspect (very good positioning, recovering the ball..) , he is u17 and u19 European Champion , and honestly i dont know if is true this Manchester City offer for Florentino, for example, recently here in Portugal was reported that Tiago Dantas was already flying to Manchester City for free, and in the end he signed a new contract with Benfica (Tiago Dantas who has huge potential!! ) So lets wait and see.... i dont know if Florentino is what Manchester City needs, but Pep knows what he wants and what is best for Manchester City, that im sure.
