Not sure tonight should be used in any valuation of Wirtz given how good he has regularly been otherwise and this match came at the heels of a brilliant performance and heavy celebrations at the weekend. Most Leverkusen players probably had more pints on Sunday than they’ve had in the previous 9 months put together after playing a full match. Some of them were already pissed in the post-match interviews after their title-winning demolition of Werner Bremen in which Wirtz scored a hat trick.Painfully average so far tonight.
