Foden video

The venue is a joke, no sign of any security or control; n that corridor which houses the boxes.
Small hall shows are usually fine but anyone who’s ever been to an arena boxing show knows it’s total fucking mayhem. Whatever “security” there is spend most of their time pretending to protect the fighters on their ringwalks and making cursory attempts to stop people just breezing into the floor seating area and from there into ringside.

And you never ever see so many people in such a state, everyone’s carrying 4 beers around, falling down everywhere, scuffles breaking out all over the place - it’s like New Year’s Eve in a provincial town in the only nightclub in town.

Unfortunately it’s the way society is going, these scruffs are just so brazen, completely unhinged about their actions.

Everything is done for social media clicks and getting their 15 seconds of fame.

Really sad state of affairs that this sort of thing happens all too often.

That’s what you’ve got to look forward to for the next 15 years Phil, going out and minding your own business and getting attacked by groups of mibs, dippers, sheep shaggers etc and then getting slagged off by some of your own fans for going to a sports event on a Saturday night. Fucking hell

I agree with you 100% mate.

Phil should be able to go out with his family and not have to worry about.

It's the pricks that need outing, trying to get 10 minutes of fame.

If that was a City punching a United players mum, I'd want the lad locked up.

On a side note, Phil's mam basically whoop ass those scousers.

It's sad more, than anything.

People having digs at the lad and all that's really happened is that he's just learnt a pretty horrific lesson that because he's successful there will always be people looking to hurt him and his family.

The world's grim and it's not nice to watch people find that out.

Tbf why not just say where you are from? Illinois or wherever? Not like it makes any difference to us
We’ve all met them irritating people on holiday who say they’re from Manchester and then it turns out they’re from some hovel village on the outskirts of Burnley
Or Trafford ;)

So called grown men punching a women in the face, shithouses id carve them up for fun.

I gotta say, last night, on the way back to Wythy on the bus, there were a group of four of the upstairs back seats drinking. One of them was preparing some weed and I said 'Don't be smoking that here, Bruh' to him and he nodded.

However, one of them was a fat mouth hoe who told me to 'shut the fuck up' and mind my own business! I was like, wtf? I told the other 3, best tell your girl to pipe down and another passenger spoke up to back me up and she told him if he wanted to fight and she'd spark him out! Another one of the group tried hush her, but she kept running her mouth, like she was sure I wouldn't do nothing.

Only when I said I would run through the three of them over her did she hold her peace. True I wasn't in a good mood after that loss yesterday, but I was a bit triggered hearing some Spuds fans laughing about the result and singing on a Manc bus, earlier on!

Women can start shit, true, but I'm with with you on them boys. I'd have run them too.

Absolutely amazing that some of our fans are blaming Phil. A large amount of our followers (not fans) don't deserve our club

Maybe but that is awful sexist bigotry from yourself there.

Nobigga

A thoroughly depressing thread and the more you read and see the more you sympathise with Phil and his family. No one should be subjected to that, but to happen more than once, on the same night, must have been an absolutely awful experience.

Not criticising anyone , but were quick to judge peoples reactions but it seems like he was subject to considerable goading and provocation and so Its not surprising those closest to him reacted at some point. It might be judged as not the best response but until your walking in there shoes, its difficult to know how you would respond and sadly things can escalate very quickly.

With a middle aged hat on, going watching boxing surrounded by idiots would be the last thing I would want to do, but as a 21 year old it would have been on my bucket list, so its not fair to judge him on that. For all the money footballers get their are a lot of drawbacks and challenges. Trying to balance a life of remaining grounded, retaining life long friendships, not changing as a person, but then having to make judgements and taking precautions to avoid situations like last night. Decisions most kids at 21 would never have to think about.

Those in the wrong are the idiots who go to goad and provoke because thats the only thing they will achieve in their lives.

Bus wanker.

In my eyes Phil had done absolutely nothing wrong yesterday (going by the video).
I'm all for footballers going out for a drink and enjoying themselves, But their is a time and a place to be doing it. It never really looks good when we suffered a defeat and players go out because fans see it as we are all at home completely pissed off. I know players also can't stop people taking a video of them whilst on a night out so it's best not to give them any ammunition in the process falling around drunk being refused entry to places too.
They can go out and have a good night have drinks without painting a bad picture on themselves and the club.
Come on it’s a game of football. Players should hide away for a bit because the fans are down, are you serious. Perhaps he could of given his tickets to the spurs lads instead.
Opposing fans will be C#nts, and sadly not only has fame come to young Phil, it’s also inadvertently come to his family, who I’m guessing don’t have the social skills to manage such a confrontation.

I’m not completely sure I’ve understood much of what you’ve said there, other than that you are really really hard, of course

Total scum and bullies. Anyone trying to blame Phil or his mum for this should be ashamed of themselves. Foden and his family in a private box being terrorised by a gang of thugs and defending themselves. It happened in a corridor. If this was in the main part of the arena these thugs would have been battered by City fans at the fight. Just cowardly thugs.
Yes it started in the corridor but they all went in and the door closed. Why not leave it closed?
