I bought it last night also and haven't had a chance to play it properly yet (fucking work!) but I'll let you know.

Join the steam group (on steam) as there are quite a few tips on there mate.
I downloaded that Steam, couldn't figure out so I deleted it this morning. Downloaded the last transfer update so all up to date. I feel like i'm cheating myself if I don't play 4-4-2, but I also want Silva to play a role just behind Balotelli and Tevez. Without making any signings I think a first 11 of:

********************Hart*********************

Rich********Komp*************Toure**********Kol

******************De Jong*********************

************Milner**************Yaya*************

********************Silva************************

********Tevez*********************Balotelli*********

Kolarov will be getting replaced, as will Richards if I can get hold of decent replacements. Enrique looks shit hot on it, as doe Srna, who I currently have a £25m bid accepted but that pesky red tape is holding things up!
Milner will also be for the chop.

Add Srna and Pastore or Douglas Costa to that team (for Milner) and you have the Premier League title beckoning!

Pretty much same team as I have that, started again but go for the usual suspects. Got Srna and Pastore as main recruits and 2nd currently, top of European group though. It's difficult to juggle Dzeko, Hazard, Lukaku and Witsel on the bench though and ensure they get enough game time to develop. Looking to bring in Javi Martinez and Douglas Costa in January. I know I should really be buying a defender or two, but Boateng and Milner are for the chop and hoping that will raise a few million, so will see what that leaves me with.
Do you get involved with all the training or just leave it on automatic? CM 01/02 wasn't this fucking complexed! I have my set pieces all sorted out, but that training thing looks a bit involved. On a plus note I had positive reponses from Yaya and Mario for saying I am more than happy with my squad in my press conference. Little do they know Milner, Richards and Kolarov are offski!

Bought this last night and had a fiddle with it. My how thing have changed since the good old days of Championship Manager! I have ALWAYS gone for 4-4-2, but with City I can't see how I can fit that in with the squad as it is. Have contemplated going 4 2 3 1 with Silva being allowed a free role, but this isn't my style of play. Any tips so that I don't end up taking a £300m down?!

Dont need to buy loads of players
Eden Hazard £18M
Rafael Toloi(need to be fast as the rags always buy him) £2.6M
Javier Pstore £27M
Fábio Coentrão £11M
All great buys

I play 4-1-2-2-1

GK-Hart
RB-Zab/Richards
CB-Kompany
CB-Toloi/Toure
LB-Kolarov/Coentrão
DM-Yaya/De Jong
CM-Sliva/Pastore
CM-Barry/Milner
AMR-Tevez(hes brilliant in this postion)/Milner/Balotelli
AML-Hazard/Balotelli/Silva
CF-Balotelli/Džeko/Tevez

Yeah, I tend to get involved, usually change things after the first season. no idea why i don't change straight away, but I've always done it that way.

I tend to go for specialist coaches when I change - one guy good at defending, one at attacking, one at shooting coaching etc etc. That way you can ensure you have a better chance to get 5* plus ratings for every category without unbalancing the workload.

I had Balo tell me he was unhappy after I transfer listed SWP. Didn't make much sense. Also signed Fabio Contrao from Portugal and he asked to be given 4 weeks leave of absence three days after signing! I've probably concentrated too much on signing younger stars - I now have the issue where they need to play at a decent level to develop, but I don't feel most are ready this season for more than 5/10 games. Players like Connor Wickham, Serjio Aguera, Lukaku, Witsel, Kevin (some guy called Kevin from Spain!), Boyata, Pavel Nyakhaychyk, Vaclav Kadlec.

I feel the need for a different kind of challenge though, City are all well and good and I always come back to them eventually, but I may start with a Blue Square division team and see how it goes. Fancy a team with a half decent reputation to attract a couple of decent players though, or a little finance, or a decent squad already. Any suggestions? Crawley would be the obvious one.

My team:

-----------------------Hart----------------------------

Richards/Zab---Samba---Kompany--Kolarov/Cunningham-

----------------------Busquets-------------------------

-----------------Mutch---------Milner------------------

-----------------------Silva----------------------------

--------------------Balotelli------Tevez----------------

Others:
Given
Boateng
Lescott
De Jong
Yaya
Thiago
Denis Suarez
Dzeko
Lukaku

In 4 seasons, my big signings were Turan (£10m), Parker (£14.5m), Samba (£14m), Busquets (£28m). Instead, my major transfer spending has been on excellent prospects from youth academies around the world, who I blood into City when they're under 18, then promote to the first team when they're ready.

Mutch's breakout season was last year, where he did very well, same with Cunningham who is really pressed on as a properly good left back. I have Boyata, Sergi Gomez and Guidetti out on loan this year (Guidetti/Boyata played 5-10 games last year). I'm hoping that Thiago and Denis Suarez will both fit in nicely this year. Lukaku was a one off purchase because I felt short up front with only Dzeko, Balo and Tevez. I needed someone who would be happy playing 10-15 games a season or so but didn't want to disrupt Guidetti's development where he's getting a full season of first team footy. If Guidetti works out, I'm hoping to sell Dzeko as he doesn't really suit either of my systems.

Long term, I want to massively reduce the wage bill as I don't like the sugar daddy model, so nobody at the club is now on over £100k a week apart from Tevez/Yaya/Dzeko/Silva.

I'm hoping to one day have a full team of guys who came through my system, either bought or through the ranks.

I feel like this is all I'm doing until night when I go and play football until people finish their exams since I finished college weeks ago. Anyway, still going with the Blackburn game however I've just started a new one with Kobenhavn.

I subscribe to this philosophy too. I hate making expensive signings; got some quality freebies after 1-2 years too, including Thiago, Kaka, Destro, Santon + Kroos. I usually spend about an hour each July finding the best 14-15 year olds and sniping them, then loaning out all my 17 year olds that I've previously purchased. I control about 50% of all the good young footballers in the world. I love youth.

Giggle.

Although I must admit I do the same.

AWKWAAAAAARD

Tottenham are very realistic in this game. Went in for Modric with a fee of £20m and £8m after 30 league appearances....

....Tottenham negotiate over Modric, we'd like a fee of £57m for Modric.

I always go Darlington, decent squad for Blue Square, no transfer budget but there is a bit of wiggle room in wage budget. You can get by on free's and Bosmans all the way up to Championship pretty much.

The other thing is they have a stonking stadium for a Blue Square team - 25k all-seater!!! in Blue square it doesn't need upgrading until after a couple of seasons in the PL !!!
