Yeah I like to have a pool of top strikers ;)
I give the kids loads of friendlies against the reserves so they all get a fair bit of game time. The best kids also get some game time in the first team.
I think signing quality youngsters it is a good way to get more home grown players trained at the club
normally stick to same formation 4-1-2-1-2 Narrow Attacking Diamond with very high defensive line, closing down always and short passing
-- advice as requested on PM -- sharing for other players new to the game
Sure, no worries, here are some tips, I hope you dont mind if I share with the rest of the forum also
You just paste the file into save game folder: My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2011\games
I would also recommend improving the game by downloading the graphic packs from <a class="postlink" href="http://www.sortitoutsi.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.sortitoutsi.net/</a>
As a minimum I would download the facepacks and the club badges
What you could do is look at my save Game for an idea on good coaches, scouts and physios.
Take a look at some of the youth players that you fancy and take a note of them and then incorporate them in your new game.
I would reccomend getting JPP20 JPA20 scouts and looking for young players
I often run a filter of players that have contract status youth as they can be signed on a pre contract for freeish
This often means that they will become homegrown trained which is handy for later in the game.
For coaches it is important to also consider the following attributes Motivating, Determination and Discipline as well as the subject area of training (Attack, defense, Technical) etc
If you are negotiating with the board and they decline your request it is often
a good idea to state "It well help us get ahead of rivals" to twist there arm.
Always look at improving youth facilities, scouting and incraese stadium size as soon as the opportunity arises with the board.
It is also possible to use the data editor to tweak individual elelements of the game.
No point changing anything with City but I sometimes make Aberdeen my feeder club and set them up with a sugar Daddy ;)
The editor is available under the steam folder in windows explorer
