For those who think National Healthcare is a bad idea...

One American once scoffed at the idea of a state-funded single-payer healthcare system, on the grounds that "why should I fund someone else's healthcare?"

I then asked them what happened if they didn't use any or much of their insurance funded healthcare in a year - did they get a refund of the unused amount? And if they needed to receive healthcare in excess of their premium/co-pay/deductible, how did that get funded?

They simply didn't understand the concept of an insurance policy, which is basically pooled funds to cover the overall costs of a scheme.

Brave of you to assume pubs/bars will be open still on Sunday lol - anyone wanting to attend a spreader event best go Xmas Eve to get in under the wire. Good news is Johnson's efforts mean you will still be allowed to see family Xmas Day...................and again in July 2024

Well I’m not Christian (my wife is hence the opposition to obnoxious atheists) and I’m certainly not millennial and wouldn’t class myself as conservative, more liberal actually.

If the author of the thread is American then he needs to shut up too :-)

Nobody has the right to tell Americans and them vice versa.

I think women are equal to men. I think killing your children on the outskirts of town for being cheeky is rather OTT. I think threatening to torture and burn people for eternity, is the sign of a psychopathic mind. I think God convincing Abraham to sacrifice his son to prove he loves him enough, is the act of a horrible bastard. I think Lott offering up his daughters to be raped instead of Angels, is so far beyond obnoxious its meeting itself on a loop. I have never called for all the inhabitants of a city massacred, animals included, because they dont agree with me. If however you think pointing these abominations of behaviour and teachings out, is obnoxious, then perhaps we are.

Calm down it’s Christmas and I didn’t say all atheists, I was referring to a specific conversation in another thread and a specific post I’d already replied to.

Anyway, all you’ve posted there is Hebrew Bible and not New Testament (the Christian bit), which my wife doesn’t have to follow and is instructed to ignore in the NT.
