I watched Sin Nombre last week. Really enjoyed it. It's about a family who are trying to smuggle their way into USA from Honduras (through Mexico) and a Mexican gang, some of which attempt a robbery on the train that containing said smugglers. The lead male in the film then kills his gang leader and falls for the one of the smugglers and attempts to help her get to America.

Nobody has mentioned 9 Queens yet. It arrived today from Amazon. Comes highly recommended. It apparently blows City of God out of the water. Although i don't think that's possible. Silly talk!

And 9 queens is one of my fav ono.......... love grifter movies

I haven't seen this one mentioned, for those of you that like City of god, you'll find this an excellent chioce.

<a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carandiru_(film" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carandiru_(film</a>)

Carandiru is a Brazillian film based loosely on real events, amazing film.

Just started getting into world cinema myself, recently watched 'Paris Je t'aime' its easy to watch, and if your any good at french then its quite easy to understand aswell.

Pan's Labyrinth
Conterfeiters
The Orphanage
Rudo y Cursi

Pretty much anything by del Toro.

The Orphange is superb and a great twist and Pans Labyrinth is also a great watch, i must admit Del Toro's films are brilliantly thought out and original to most the shit these days.

What are the other 2 films like you mention?

Gomorroah was a huge disappointment for me
City of God is a good film
Let the right one in is also brilliant
Apocalypto is a decent film and looks quality on blu ray!
