Forgotten Away Days Days Number Two - QPR 93 FA Cup

we took 6'000 to hillsboro a few years ago, great atmopshere even though we were playing the most boring football we had played for years. patronising definatly the right word here. There were times in the 80's when we would take only a few hundred fans to places like Stamford Bridge & White Hart Lane, something that would never happens now. Would you say the league now means more to fans? not really, things were just different then, and vice versa.

Lighten up, for God's sake.

Until the premier league started there was nearly the same prestige in winning the FA Cup as there was in winning the league. Glory was what mattered. Now it's all about the cash. In those days you'd get as many on an FA Cup 3rd round tie as you would a league game.

I promise you that in those days, winning a game like this meant more to the fans than it would now.

But it doesn't really matter, just enjoy the thread. Make your own if you don't like it.

-- Thu Nov 18, 2010 4:52 pm --

As it was, he came on the thread and started throwing insults round when everyone else as playing nicely.

anyone remember how much tickets were ?

Less than a tenner.

I used to go to most City games in London in the early 90's. Best thing about it was being able to decide on the day if you wanted to be bothered, pitch up at the ground and pay less than a tenner to get in, and no problems getting in the away end either.

It's so far removed from that now, might as well be talking about the 1930's.

Top day. Drank in the White Horse (Hart?) just along the road from Shepherd Bush tube before and after the match. Place full of blues and a few QPR. In the paddock and on the pitch at the end shaking hands with Fitzroy Simpson. QPR at the time were probably the best team in London, be good to have them back in Prem.

Still got the scar on my knee from twatting it on the lip of the seat in front when i jumped up after we scored
must be the most cramped seats in any league ground....good away day tho

Great away day - I was there.

Pub outside the ground was rocking.

Was this the game when Ferdinand was injured prior and had to go in an oxygen tent for his injury??

Yes i was there just seen myself jumping around like i looney! when white scored.great day remember drinking inthe springbok before the game.
