it would be good to determine what is meant by history, its a bit like the "big club" debate.
It is mainly scousers and bitter rags that say it, but all they do is press the select button as to the period they liked best, they put their stamp on a little 20 year period and say look at that history.
What they are really saying is "you are not as good as us when we where good"
As most people think, I would rather have been good for the last 10 years, good now and good future.
History to me is from the date your club was formed, to be honest all the league clubs have a history.

what manchester city have over any other club is a loyal fan base, they can stick the history glory and how many titles up there ass ?? when your down in in the old 3rd division we had crowds of 30.000 turning up to watch manchester city playing football, its not about glory and winning try turning up on a wet tuesday night in the 3rd division knowing you are miles away from what we used to be, we was the last manchester team to win the old english first division title and cup winners and euro cup winner team and have history ??????

One of my favourites has always been United fans saying that they were formed in 1878 and City in 1894 so they're much older.

I always mention Blackpool, Preston and Huddersfield when they start the history shit. They haven't got a clue about pre 1992, it is fun to bait them with the fact that the PL needed a "name" to sell it around the world and they did everything to ensure that the 'name" was successful.
