Is this just twitter rumours and so on,or is this potential loan deal on,must say its come out of the blue if true....

All the papers running it
Cheers for that Karen...don't see any problem bringing him in,will be most likely back up cover for injuries and possibly seeing out games in the latter stages....
+ League Cup. Lampard signing allows us to rest the trio of Fernando, Fernandinho & Yaya Toure almost. Maybe Fernando with him but definitely Ferna and Yaya.

Re: Frank Lampard to NYCFC?

A no brainer. Keeps him match fit for 6 months and provides us with a HG player and extra experience in the squad.

Re: Frank Lampard to NYCFC?

Perhaps he didn't want to go on loan to Australia?

It's a free roster spot so I'm all for it. You never know what kind of injuries might happen.

Lampard, even at 36,is a winner,he'll want to prove a point.....this move will reinvigorate him imo,and we'll have ourselves a very useful option. His experience around the gaff can only benefit us.
What point does he have to prove?

That the Chavs were wrong to let him go,that he is still capable of contributing at the highest level.

Re: Frank Lampard to NYCFC?

He'll be the fifth choice midfielder and will get hardly any games. Its just for fitness. Don't get what the fuss is about?

You've changed your tune

Re: Frank Lampard to NYCFC?

With Negredo out in the Fall seems like you could pair Lampard with a striker at home in a 4-4-2 against a weaker team if the CL/PL conflicts demanded you rest a forward. He could provide a target for MF and hang around the box looking to attack. Decent accuracy from 20 yards, too. Might be one way to get him some minutes beyond cup games.

Re: Frank Lampard to NYCFC?

Well, well, well... What a clever piece of business by us. I hope platini is stomping up and down in his little size threes right now.

Fantastic opportunity for our players to learn from someone who has won it over and over. Could even be offered a place in our CL squad for the group stage and do a job.

SSN confirming it now too through their "sources."
