The FN have made it to the last two presidential run-offs, something that would have been considered unbelievable not so long ago.Strange isn't it, vote for Macron to stop Le Pen and still get Le Pen's policies.
It’s going to take something large to recalibrate politics away from restrictive and hateful policies. The FN have made it to the last two presidential run-offs, something that would have been considered unbelievable not so long ago.
The PS have been absolutely hollowed out. Where once they were the party of Presidents, they now sit as a fringe party in the AG.
I lived in Pau, in the Pyrenees in the late ‘80s and witnessed first hand “la France profonde”. Then, it was more an anti-Paris/ big city thing. But as time wore on, as immigration increased, it became more of cry against multi-culturalism. Hence the rise of the FN/ NR
in the last presidential election Le Pen polled north of 40% (up from circa 30% in 2017).
If that were to be extrapolated in a similar vein in 2027, we’ll be looking at a National Front Presidency. Unthinkable not so long ago, now a distinct possibility. And immigration lies as its root cause.
Based on todays events thats a bold move
