Was that before or after our £100m purchase?In addition, to support your hypothesis, Khaldoon said last year, that due to the lack of money in the industry, we'd have to be 'cuter' (i think that was the phrase) at bringing players in.
Even though we're one full season after lockdowns, maybe revenues remain a bit low?

We did sell a lot to bring him in though. Think we let go of over 50 million worth of players, admittedly on lower wages.Was that before or after our £100m purchase?

It doesn’t bother me either way, but saying that and then splurging £100m on a player we didn’t 100% need seems slightly extravagant.We did sell a lot to bring him in though. Think we let go of over 50 million worth of players, admittedly on lower wages.

And then looking for the most basic, ordinary, run of the mill ‘skill’ to justify and praise….It doesn’t bother me either way, but saying that and then splurging £100m on a player we didn’t 100% need seems slightly extravagant.
In every decade MCFC have made some “just wrong” expensive signings. Welcome to that club Jack Grealish….

I don’t think signing him was a mistake per se. He undoubtedly has talent.And then looking for the most basic, ordinary, run of the mill ‘skill’ to justify and praise….

What sets him apart from other signings is whether he has it behind the ears to be an elite player.
We will know next summer.

If he can keep his sunglasses on behind his ears…that’s a start.
