From a new fan...

UCW: our American friend has made the effort to travel a third of the way round the globe to watch live matches and has plans to do so again. Give him some credit!

Welcome Jim, once a blue always a blue.

Welcome Jim, once a blue always a blue.

I plan to do the same one day, unfortunately I still live with my mom, and cash is hard to come by.

I envy the OP, he can afford numerous transatlantic flights to watch the blessed baby blues, and all just to satisfy his yearning to attach himself to the latest craze.

I bet he has an IPad too.

ESPN will have to do me for now, but I can still root City to glory from home. I'll be singing bluemoon deep in Kentucky when we sign Aguero!

As you obviously have nothing more constructive to say, to quote one of your posts "So excuse me if I don't take you too seriously".

Whatever dude.

Been a City fan since 1960,aged 5,born and bred in Rusholme and enjoyed the highs and lots of lows in that time.
All that doesn`t make me a better fan than anyone else old or new,and once I was a new fan.As long as the Blues make you laugh and cry you are a fan no matter where you are from or how long you have been with us.

Mr Axe--For the record, my choice was not "sudden". The fact is I knew fuck all about football, but knew the WC was approaching in a year, and I made a conscious effort to learn the game so I could not be like the 3 hundred million Americans that could give fuck all about "soccer", but like the 3 billion people around the world who are fanatical about football. I immersed myself in La Liga, Serie A, and EPL. What I found out over time was City fans were singing louder than all others from the games I watched. And as a defensive minded "American" footballer, it was so easy to see Nigel De Jong dominate my TV screen every time City played. As I watched with my friends, I would always point out "There's that guy making a play again--God is he ferocious". And I started singing Blue Moon with the loudest fans on TV. And then Mancini showed up with his scarf...I had to have that scarf...a monster was born. I have not missed a City game since, and have made four matches live (2 in NYC, rags, and Birmingham City). I will be in LA next weekend, September for the 3rd rd League Cup game (where ever it is) and Everton, for the Derby in April, and a "mystery date" TBD, waiting for 25/8/11 posting of CL fixtures. There is so much more to my story. And to say I "suddenly chose" City is naive at best. The team earned my loyalty over time. Now, I will grant I never rode a trolley to Faroe Islands, and I never was looked down upon as a bitter as a child by rag kids, and never spent a day in Division two. But then again, EPL Football wasn't even on my TV until satellite brought it to me, let alone division 2 football. I had no idea I would catch the bug I caught, but I in fact caught it. CTID.

Steve B--If I come to UK for a tie, and for whatever reason cannot get a ticket, I will be in a pub with you watching. Sounds like the campus project may alleviate that concern, however. And I doubt there will be too much ticket competition for that 3rd round LC tie referenced above. See you there?

Liam--what can I say-- you better hope your lady doesn't like American accents. Or huge pectoral muscles (insert winking emoticon here)

And Finally Shaelumstash--I totally accept that rule, and would have it no other way.

Thanks for the support, all--looking forward to partying with you all very soon.

Please stay away from Eastlands

You've been twice and they were the most boring 0-0 dull draws, you jinxed yank ;-)

Hi. My name's Carl.

I'm from Kentucky, I'm 34 and my passion is cats. I love them, they're gentile, warm animals and they provide great company.

I like Tennis too, my favourite player is Nadal. He has nice hair.

I used to like Nascar but it gets a little repetitive, and can become boring.

But in January I began watching a little Soccer. I caught a little EPL, and one team immediately stood out.

It was my now beloved City.

The love affair started with the colour of the jerseys, baby blue. Really cool, I'd never seen anything like it before, it really caught my attention. More so, the coach, Mancini. He wore a baby blue and white scarf, it looked awesome, he oozed class. He was the clincher for me, he even has nicer hair than Nadal!

Then City won The FA Cup, it was the proudest moment of my life. I bought the home jersey and a baby blue scarf, and I haven't missed a game on ESPN since.

I love you City. I'm so proud to be part of the clan too. Go blues!

CTID.

bet you could join the COOL CATS... have a word with Micky for you... have you got a tattoo yet & do you have a baseball bat?

Well UCW.....our Yank friend has been registered on BM longer than yourself......doesn't that make you 'new' rather than him here....?
