The making space for others thing you get annoyed at is absolutely vital to the way pep sets up to play. Surely you can see that?
Yes i understand it perfectly i just think space should be made for the strikers,he never makes anything happen for himself, scoring goals is in his job description is it not?i'm not being outrageous when pep himself is not playing him whilst sergio is out,i just don't see him stepping up as no 1 striker

My entire point has been he is not the player he was when he arrived,he's just not,it's not that i don't rate him full stop,i just get annoyed at the he makes space for others after every game,he is a striker and should step up as such, make stuff happen for himself once in a while, pep is not playing him for a reason whatever that is,it's a worry when he is can't step up when sergio is out

Lol he’s 21 years old ffs and hasn’t even started consecutive games this season. Do you expect him to come back out of the cold and be top class?? Strikers need that momentum.

On top of all this he is dealing with Pep lowering his confidence. Not letting Gabby take the pen at Anfield (a mistake), Scores a hat trick, benched next game (was the derby so ok), then yesterday gets dropped for Raz/Mahrez as false 9 which was a major failure.

He’ll get through this rough patch and like the Sterling haters you are going to look very funny.

I am not a hater at all,i am concerned he has gone back from where he was,i was really pleased to get him then after his injuries he has not pushed on,whatever is going on with him and pep he is not playing him, does that not concern anyone else,i never write kids off ,you won't find me doing that and i'm not doing it here either,i want him to get back on track,we need him to be our 2nd striker, they all want to score goals thats their naturemwhatever is going on i want it over and him back on track then we'll all be happy

Ok. Would also point out he probably suffered from the WC. So much expectations on him and the Brazilian national team as well, and they failed to deliver. He was ok but was constantly ignored by Neymar. Him being so young and his first WC and the way it played out, probably had an effect on his form for us.

We saw something similar with Fernandinho after the infamous 7-1 loss at the 2014 WC.

I am most concerned about him being constantly offside. This he needs to improve and it’s certainly something that can be improved. Otherwise overall he has played well just been unlucky at times with chances and missed some others but it’s not like he’s missing sitters here. Has had a few assists recently so he’s influencing games.

I do think there is something in him playing for Brazil, there his job is to make space for neymar and maybe he is carrying it on here unconsciously,i've just skimmed the first dozen pages of this thread and there are a few with similar concerns and that's all it is, not writing him off, don't get me started on the offside situation lol

I agree that hes stagnating slightly. Hes the only player, in my opinion, that hasnt noticably improved under Pep.

This constant rotation imo is bad for him. He is the kind of player that has to feel the confidence of his manager but at City he will never start 3 games in a row even if he scores in two games in a row.

He cant find rythm all he can do is get a bit lost upfront while working hard and pressing which is useful of course.

We are nearly at half of the PL and Jesus scored 1 goal in PL.

The fact Pep didnt start him in a big game even when Kun is ot injured is not a good sign for him either.

I guess he starts vs Hoffenheim and then even he scores two he will sit on bench vs Everton as Kun is coming back.

At City he will never be a 20+ scorer in PL as he simply doesnt play enough for that. Kane, Salah etc they are able to play 35 PL games a season starting all of them. Jesus will end up with starting maybe 15 games in PL.

Gundogan
Walker
Laporte(been quality since he arrived)
Kompany
Danilo
Mendy
Dave(you dont improve perfection)
Delph
Fernandinho(as good in 13/14 as he is now)
Dave and Delph have certainly been improved by Pep as has Fern. Cant comment on Laporte as I didnt see him play before. Komps, Mendy, Dani havent played enough to tell.

Hey, it’s legit to query selection and tactics without being disloyal know-alls.

I was pissed off when I saw the selection on Saturday. First, Sterling doesn’t suit that role, but he’s on fire in his customary position. Second, it must have come as a kick in the balls to Gabby when he’s struggling for confidence. Although he isn’t scoring at present, he’s not a passenger either.

Serious questions will be raised if he’s snubbed on Wed.

In what way has he improved Dave? I'm not seeing anything he hasn't been doing his entire career, he's just doing it in a better team. Delph has improved as a left-back but not as a player, he's still a better midfielder than he'll ever be a fullback.

Raz goals and assists in recent times dwarf gabby's by a mile, everyone misses chances, having said that i wouldn't have set up like pep did,he over thought it and made us weaker, the whole thing was littered with mistakes from pep and the players,it's gone and we move on

Stats aside, I still think Jesus is a far superior finisher to Sterling, although his confidence looks shaky at the mo, hence ropy recent goal scoring record. As a young striker the best thing he could have is the backing of the manager, a run of games in Aguero's absence for me is what he needs, I don't think Pep his helping him at the mo...

Sterling is improving his game tremendously though. He's still much more eager to pass - it seems to me - than to shoot - even given his recent tremendous form.

Jesus is very gifted of course. But once Aguero retires, is Jesus gifted enough to be the preferred striker in the World's best football team? Perhaps - after all, Benzema featured for RM without being in the top 10 at his position.

Benzema was probably in the top 1 at his position when it came to link up and bringing the players around him into play, wouldn't be a bad role model for Jesus given his skillset.
