His movement to allow the space to open up for Bernardo was utter quality. Although we all like to see our strikers make the net bulge, I don’t care. If he contributes by making defenders follow him, or laying the ball off for an assist etc, we certainly have the quality players to put it away.
The lad is struggling with confidence, he just needs game time and a goal or two, missing gilt edged chances or not giving the easy ball will always open him up for criticism. He’s 21, he’s had a couple of bad injuries, which hopefully have returned him stronger. His City interview shows how humble and grateful he is to be here. If he’s good enough for Brazil, he’ll be good here too.

Fortunately, his manager and some of us know that even when he's not scoring he still contributes, unlike most other strikers.

Not sure why posters get so precious over a difference of opinion , Jesus has made zero progress since joining the club , he has had a couple of injuries which has slowed his progress , but he is not improving , at 21 time is on his side and if he is Brazils first choice number 9 , he isnt too shabby. But god forbid if Aguero suffered a long term injury , because for all Jesus's excellent work and selfless running for the team , we signed him to score goals , and hes isnt converting his chances at the moment. Any striker relies on goals to bring them confidence ,so would love him to score a couple and see the return of the Jesus we signed from Palmeiras , he was full of confidence and sharp as a knife when he arrived , just hope he isnt waiting until Easter to resurrect his career it could too late because the title will be in the bag :)

I don’t think it’s posters getting precious, it’s posters not having it when people misrepresent the reality. Jesus has 25 goals in 38 starts for City.
City with Jesus starting have a sensational record. I don’t think we’ve lost a league game he’s played in, certainly not started in.

He’s in a bit of a draught no doubt about it, but give him 4 starts in a row, give him 4 games against some of the cannon fodder we’ve faced and I’m sure that would change.

As I said earlier, Jesus has started some of our most difficult and important victories. Away at Chelsea, Spurs & United. 3 huge wins for us last season.

Where opposing views may get a little precious is with the idea that if Sergio was injured we’d struggle. People get precious because this idea is frankly bullshit. Statistically we actually improve with Jesus.
Our toughest away victories all came last year with Jesus, Sané & Sterling leafing the line.

Our 4 stand out poor results last season were Palace, Liverpool & Burnley away, United at home, Jesus played a total of 40 minutes in those 4 games. Agüero over 260 minutes in those same games.

Now, I’m certainly not blaming Agüero for those results.
But it puts to bed the idea that we’d be worse without Agüero.

We’re blessed to have both, Aguero is in the best form of his City career. But we’re lucky to have Jesus as his understudy.

His form in front of goal is a hangover from the World Cup.

He was expected to lead the line for them as a 20 year old. He got a lot of slack over his lack of goals.

He's absolutely fine. All strikers go through a bit of a lean spell. All of them. He's got plenty of time. He needs one to go in off his backside from 3 yards.

In hindsight, if he took and scored that penalty against the 'Pool it would have brought him back

The problem Jesus or any other player has is that when they are off form it sticks out like a sore thumb because of the standard of the rest of the players. He is only young but because he has led the line for Brazil it is expected that he is the finished product. The no. 9 position is probably the hardest role to learn and play which is why you rarely see a young player who can excel at it.

At the moment he appears to be anxious and although not slow he is not lightening quick and always looking to gain a yard as shown by the offsides he accrues. His position is the one on the pitch where a lot of the time you play with your back to goal and that is an art in itself

One thing is certain by working in the current team and management he will only improve but the marked improvement I expect to come later this season or even the next one. He is an intelligent player and like Raz doesn't hide when things don't go right and as Raz as shown improvement will come and when it does we will be talking about him like we do with Raz

No need to worry about this lad. Reminds me of the threads writing off David Silva a few seasons back.

This is what Gabby is currently about. Defenders will know and have seen the kind of goal he can score and the touch is 24ct Brazilian. They couldn't leave him alone inside or outside the area, and one big galoot keeping an eye on him makes more space for the rest. It's something that often goes unsung.

I am sure pep gets it.even if some fans don't
