We know we want a left back and D.M. so that sounds like the couple Khaldoon mentioned. If he doesn't expect Sterling to go and need replacing I can't see why fans expect it. Even if he does go I'm not convinced he'd be replaced, and probably not by Felix.
Agree. But quite a few like to play football manager.

Sterling won't get sold and even if he were to be, there would be almost no chance that City then suddenly panic and go and buy an attacker. Anyone who thinks that has paid almost no attention to the way Pep works IMO.

I would only want him if sterling left which is entirely plausible this summer? I really don’t think city will let it drag on past a certain date and risk losing out on say £50m this summer and the wages saved? I personally think Felix is more talented than Sterling and would flourish under Pep and it help start the next generation of star squad build alongside Haaland, Foden and hopefully Bellingham next summer.
Spot on,a definite upgrade.

And,irrepective of snidey statement, both he and Mahrez would be the obvious candidates for replacement.

The classic "upgrade" button has been pushed ;)

Was pushed last summer too when we were chasing Grealish, only it didn't quite work out like that in the end. I think it was Ferguson who once said "some people always think the cow in the next field is prettier than the cow in their field". Always makes me laugh when I think about that saying.

Which is all fine, even do it myself and come up with formations Pep will probably never use. It's part of the summer transfer thread fun, the thing is though don't expect these things then be disappointed when what you had in your head doesn't happen and blame Txiki.

Personally I think it's high time the club replaced Isco!

If Gabby is determined to leave then he leaves us some fantastic memories, many of them in big games. He has been a fantastic squad member from the day he arrived never giving anything but 100%. It will be doubly sad if both he and Zinny leave but time moves on and they both want more game time. Both are worth £40/50m and I hope if we are to sell, that is what we value them at. Multiple PL winners and shaped by the best coach football has seen.

Saying Felix can replace Sterling isn't quite right. They are completely different players with different roles and skill sets. It's the same as saying he could replace Gabby. They just don't offer the same things at all.

Felix would have been a better alternative to Grealish but Jack's here and not going anywhere soon.

Zinchenko is worth £30m+ but you just know we’d do a deal for £15-20m to get Zinchenko a move he wants

Don't go, Jesus.

Why?

I keep seeing lots of Felix fanboys on the forum, but no-one has yet managed to even really tell me who he's replacing. For what he'd cost, he isn't sitting on the bench. So are we dropping 100 million pound Grealish for him? Or Foden? Or Haaland? Or KDB? Or Bernardo? I won't mention Sterling or Mahrez because ultimately those 2 get regular bouts of serious disrespect from a lot of people and are being sold every summer according to those who constantly covet shiny new toys.

The world is full of talented footballers and Manchester City can't buy them all. We have an incredible squad and have won 4 of the last 5 titles. This sort of Football Manager thinking is entirely contrary to the way in which the club operates IMO.
Indeed it is and indeed we can’t.
I’d happily accept not winning it next season and transitioning a couple more of the academy lads in, obviously provided they’re good enough. Given what I’ve seen of Palmer, McAtee and a couple of the defensive players, I’d say they are ready to step up and I hope they get their chance, as ‘squad players’ at least.

Atletico can afford Gabby and Felix is still part of their plans so swap isn't possible; and the reason why the discussion for the idea to swap Felix came about is if they couldn't and Felix wanted leave (or the rumour that Mendes was banding his name about.

Outstanding post this.

They can’t. Need to make 60 to 70 million before incomings why they went in hard for Kamara on a free, Juventus fucked them over with not paying the reported fee for Morata. Right now Atletico are bargain hunting. Why they are willing to let Lodi go this summer and a few more

Simone wants Nunez up front next season. He’s going to coast 60 odd mil. So a huge sale is needed to fund it.

Gabby's transfer fee isn't going cost that much, and the only problem is probably more to do with the salary; which is still doable. They have already let Luis Suarez go who was on high wages. Anyway the swap is not on and Felix won't be signed as a replacement. Where Gabby is going its going to be cash only.

I couldn’t disagree more. It would sicken me to see us fuck about and let the scouse twats take our hard-won title. Let’s go for three in a row, then carry on winning it, every bloody year.

Got to make the most of these times with Pep and Haaland and our brilliant players. Winning is all that matters. I don’t care if we never see another academy lad in the first team if it means we win as much as possible. Just as I’d be equally happy if we had three or four of them starting and we won everything. Whether we buy for every position or bring in youngsters, we simply must win something every year.

I worry about Raz if he decides to go to Real, look at Bale and the abuse he has received after so many big performances.

If he does go though I think I’d rather see palmer and Mactee promoted to the first team instead of spending on someone like Felix. I think Foden, Grealish, Haaland, Alvarez, Mahrez & plamer is enough for the front 3 positions, gundo, Mactee, Bernardo & Kev as the 8’s.
