Gabriel Jesus rejects new contract offer - The Times

It is these kind of comments that get me questioning some city fans. What do they know, expect or really want.

A bloke during the game v Brighton was constantly slagging Gundogen who was doing ok. Trying to push the team forward. He even shouted to get him off the park and replace him with Sterling who was not on the bench.

We have a team breaking all records and yet some still not happy or content for now at least. Enjoy the summer.

Its in most DNA to have a moan after watching City through the dark times

Me personally can't believe the team/squad we now have and grateful for every single player who caresses the ball wearing our colours.

City should have given him the 100k
He's only a lad but once he stops chucking himself on the floor and starts focusing, he will become a fantastic player and City will end up paying a lot more for his services ..

I will jog your memory, 19 premier league goals in 37 matches. 20 years old. Lone front man often against 3 central defenders , get a grip man.
Of course he is only 75% the finished article. Not just in football but as a man.He will be a different guy in 5 years.
But you are quite right . Not too shabby those figures are they. In today's market he was a steal. We can without doubt give him at least another two seasons and lose nothing. But you aren't centre forward for Brazil at 19 if you ain't got it going on.
No criticism is warranted at all for any member of this squad for what they have achieved this season. They will be talked about in 50 years at this club and rightly so.

I'd be amazed if Fernandinho, Aguero and Sterling haven't collared Jesus and made sure he understands that a Guardiola instruction may not make sense right now, but in a few months time will pay off. just like Sterling and the reported chalk crosses of where to stand.

Correct. Some of the posts in this thread remind me of the terrible criticism David Silva received 18 months ago. The same with Jesus, Yes still learning while playing in the most difficult position in a Pep team.
Some people cannot see movement and work done without the the ball.
Centre forward for Brazil at 19 is no bad start.

I think that as a whole group the last twice we won the league we stagnated, didn't kick on and dominate or win back to back titles. That's why every player needs to be giving 100% every game. In any walk of life no matter how good you are at what you do you need to look at how you can improve going forward. If you dont It's surprising how quickly the rest catch up.

But the 2nd half against Brighton, Gundogan was not in the game. He was very poor 2nd half. Seems on here if you have an opinion that doesnt quite fit then you're seen as a non city fan or clueless. Anyone that thinks Jesus is a £200m player are deluded, and i would say it makes me question their knowledge of football. I sincerely hope he does become a great, however he is not a patch on Aguero (yet). Playing in the best premier league team ever assembled it shouldn't really be difficult to shine.

Your right of course. All jesus has to do is turn up and score. Football is a simple game after all.

I think he has had a decent season. Injury derailed it slightly and will take time for him to mentally recover. He is a real talent and one for the future.

Aguero would have struggled in the past couple of games against teams that were so defensive. He gets too isolated at times and Pep loves using the width of the pitch which means we occassionally lose Jesus' asset of great one touch pass and move play. Doing that more would create more room too, he wants to come deep from a no.9 to a no.10 role with players linking with him and we should try to encourage that more.

You would get that with 3 at the back amd Sterling playing more centrally with him. You don't when de bruyne and silva play as they want to stay behind the ball creating things for others generally.

Are you talking about Jesus ?? he is absolutely nowhere near that kind of price tag

It will depend on the World Cup , if Brazil do well and he is one of the stars of the tournament , then his value will quadruple and don't forget the madness of the transfer market the Rags paid £120m for Carlton , so anything is possible :)
