Lets say we get 12m add that to the Rodwell fee and the one received for Barry ...... if Mangala signs for 29m what is our net spend ?

I have a feeling we will cover all our basis with respect to the transfer limit so that UEFA don't find any thing to complain about i.e. in our net spend calculations, we would include all the add-ons for our expenditures but not include add-ons from our sales. For e.g we make up to 25M in sales but 5M is in add-ons and we spend up to 50M but 5M is in add-ons, we'd try to maximize our net spend figure as 30M.

Not required now we have added Fernando and with future talents like Huws and Zuculini who could fill that position potentially. That fee is very very good as well and with the amount we gained from Rodwell we have made a significant return. Should be enough to put down a deposit on Isco!!!

Some people are reporting £12.7m fee ... If true good business .... I do think along the grapevine the Euros/UK Pounds confusion sometimes kicks in .. Could be 12.7 Euros which is a just over £10m???

Why not loan out Zucullini for say 6 months returning in January, will have played more games than if he was here, then when Lampard goes he comes back to cover for Lamps and Yaya.

It makes sense that either or both of Zuculini and Huws will be back in the squad for the second half of the season (hence going out on loan for 6 months). We would need the 4th CM then (especially considering the January fixture congestion) more than we would in the 1st half of the season, and Lampard has us covered there as a HG. We'd want Huws especially more b/c he is HG and can be named in the CL (or not named but still eligible), whereas Zuculini would only be able to play domestically.

Can somebody answer this: will Huws be cup tied for the FA cup?

How lame do the "we'll be lucky to get £15m for the deadwood" brigade look now?

There are clubs out there with money (home and abroad) and our surplus players have a lot to offer now. If we sell it's because one of the top sides in Europe deems them surplus to requirements not that the player is damaged goods.

Trust the backroom team to do the job they excel at.
