Another player who progressed under Pellegrini. Had to play CB at the start of last season and was often harshly critisized for his performances. Did a very good job the last 4 months and even kept Fernandinho out of the side for the last few games. Great reading of the game, but his pace and descisionmaking when having the ball is in question. A decent pro, never complains or moans about lack of playingtime. Looking at the minutes he played on the pitch during preseason, I'd say he will be going elsewhere. Napoli just sold Behrami to Hamburg, so Garcia could be the man going to Napels now ...

Would expect a decent fee. Was rated before he came to us, has more top level experiences and on the fringes of the Spain squad. Think people under estimate how well viewed he is out there.

Javi must be going - Similiar to Rodwell, hardly used in U.S .... I think City may keep Zucullini around the squad.....

Well the Rodwell to Sunnerland came out of the blue and so I am hoping a club is already lined up for Garcia, the only two mentioned by the media so far are Benfica and Napoli.

Shot in midfield for Zenit St. Petersburg Andre Villas-Boas. According collected by Tuttomercatoweb.com, the Russian company has taken Javi Garcia from Manchester City. The player is expected today in Russia to sign his move to Zenit who now must sell a foreigner because it exceeded the maximum allowed. The alternative is that Danny take Russian citizenship.

Quite expected, not expected to Russia tho. But only ones who can afford his wages

TMW are running that story as an "Exclusive".

Would be good if Zenit really wants him but probably just a rumour...

8-10m pounds maybe. I can see no one comig for him and we loan him back to Benfica maybe.

Not saying it isn't a rumour, but if you read the article,it ain't saying he's having talks,or they are showing an interest.
It says "he's expected today in Russia,to sign the deal"....they seem pretty confident.

If we're selling him to Zenit, we better hurry up with Putin going crazy again.

TMW isn't always reliable but DOES have contact with agents and one of their portal sites interviewed Garcia's agent earlier this summer when he said Javi would "100% be staying at City".

Off to Carrington to see if he is training :)

A limited player IMO but to see both him and rodwell leave would leave us with no depth in CM once lampard's loan ends in jan.

I'd imagine with the 2 fees we'd have someone lined up as a proper replacement for these 2 going?
