Gareth Bale

Chap at work - big Spuds fan - keeps bandying around figures like £65 - 75m. I keep telling him two things:-

1. Bale won't be sold to a Premier League rival; and
2. he'll go to either RM or Barca for no more than £40m tops.

You heard it here first.

I think both Spansih teams are in no position to buy unless they sell players off. Real have an agreement with Spurs and I expect Real to get Bale but only if they send a player + cash the opposite way.

City could pay cash upfront for Bale and pay right away, no-one else except Chelsea can do that and we and Spurs don't have any troubles really. United and Chelsea on the other hand have both tapped up Spurs players (Berbatov and Modric) in the recent past so I expect Levy to have us above them both and I wouldn't be shocked if Dzeko was offered in some kind of deal.

Personally speaking I see him in white nest season but the white of Madrid.

And that's the reality. Certain clubs can make an offer which is lower than the selling club would like, and the bidding club can get away with it because the player concerned will do some of the work for them, such as Fabregas and RVP. In each case, Arsenal received less than they wanted whereas we were fleeced over Nasri because we didn't have that pull. Until we win the Champions League, and repeat it, this pattern will continue.

Get him in but swop deal plus cash

Straight swap for Kolarov. OK, that's not feasible. Offer them £10m too.
Offer them Kolarov + Nasri +£10, it frees up wages, and they're both considered left sided. Then we have a squad place free too. And they get 2 players with premier league medals. And they can rib arsenal fans over nasri.

Would you do it for Dzeko + Nasri + ....let's say, 30m ?

Just asking.

I think we would be getting well fleeced on that.

Dzeko -25M;Nasri -15-18M; throw in another 30M - Bale isn't a 70M plus player by any stretch of the imagination.

It's only British tabloids that have been linking him to Madrid.
It looks like it's the tabloids and his management group and agents who push him towards Madrid. Why?

Can he succeed in the La Liga?
Mou will leave at the end of season. It's not clear who is going to replace him, but quite apart from very different football they play from the EPl or Bale, I can see him struggle to cope with a foreign language and culture, as well as non-English speaking manager/coaches, which would obviously affect his performances.

" Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has agreed to sign a three-year contract with BT Sports where the Welshman will take up ambassadorial role and feature as a guest pundit for the new BT Sport channels.........He will be actively involved in promotional activities of BT Sport in UK as well as its live coverage of 38 Premier League games a season from August 2013."

If he moves out of Spurs at the end of the season, it would be better to be one of the big EPL clubs.
