Gareth Bale

I think Bale is overrated personally, and don't think he would make us bridge that gap to Europe's elite level.

I actually think the opposite,in a world class team he would be even better.
At present he carries the majority of the attacking burden on his own,put him in a team with superior players, who are on a similar wavelength, and opposition defenders would have even more to think about, that being the case,i believe he could be devastating.

He is world class.

Exactly, if he had a Spanish or Argentinian name, we'd all want him. We were all excited about Sanchez, Di Maria and Hazard. I think Bale is better than two of them, and on a par with Hazard at least. I'd welcome Bale even more if Mancini is to leave and Pellegrini was to coach him. If Pellegrini can teach Joaquin new tricks, then he'll certainly make Bale an even better player.

He would improve us massively and he is improving all the time no part down to his own hard work to be the best he can be. Whoever gets him will be lucky. Very unrealistic he would leave spurs yet and if so I doubt his first choice would be city.

Manchester United are thought to be preparing a £50 million bid for Spurs winger Gareth Bale, and want-away Wayne Rooney might be a crucial part of any possible deal.

The club were surprised when Rooney handed in his transfer but now believe it offers the one possibility of prising Bale away from White Hart Lane.

A bid of £26 million plus Rooney would be seen as almost impossible to resist by the Spurs’ board – solving, as it does, the club’s long-term weakness in the striker department and bringing in cash for a creative midfielder.

United, who have all but given up their pursuit of Ronaldo, see Bale as the next best alternative, but would be loath to meet Spur’s £60 million valuation out of cash resources.

Rooney, who is desperate to return to a central strikers role, is still waiting to meet new manager David Moyes to see if such a role can be guaranteed next season. Those close to Moyes say it can not.

Although United are unwilling to sell Rooney, the idea of using him to recruit a player of Bale’s calibre is not without attraction.

To be fair...Bale has that 'rag look' about him...with his daft hair and punchable face

It's a prerequisite to almost any player they sign or comes through , the list is endless:-

Nani
Cleverley
Ferdinand
Rooney
Hernandez
Evra
Raphael
Young
Welbeck
Jones
etc
etc
etc

Haven't seen this posted yet but florentino perez has promised ancelotti gareth bale according to di marzio. He tweeted out that di maria would probably be the one to make way and that coentrao could also with di maria probably on his way to chelsea with mou.

If spurs don't get UCL football and Madrid offer them a huge amount then I don't see why this wouldn't get done since they were willing to pay a fortune for neymar

If Utd want to use Rooney, then we could Tevez and/or Dzeko or even Nasri.

Just a thought ......

I honestly think that Bale would prefer to test himself abroad and if he does that good luck to him

Funny that it has been mentioned that Angel Di Maria & Coentrao are tipped as the ones to leave and Pellegrini gets linked with them immediately in some press quarters

I reckon if Spurs miss out on the CL, wish is looking likely to be fair, then Bale would be open to a move.

Seems like a loyal player, could easily have gone last season imo but stayed to help Spurs try to get CL football so I think he wouldn't move to another Premier League team. Not directly from Spurs at least.

-- May 16th, '13, 14:11 --

Sky Italia transfer king @dimarzio (broke Pep to Bayern) says RM president Florentino Perez has promised Aneclotti Gareth Bale
He's also just said Bianchi could be on the move.

Ah the memories..

Bale would be a very good replacement for the ladyboy.

If Bale leaves Spurs, now that Arsenal look set to clinch 4th spot and CL football next season, it looks very much more likely, Ancelotti will fancy winning a Liga title with Real at the first attempt as Barca look a team in temporary (say 18 months) decline in rebuilding transition mode as they get rid of underachievers like Alexis Sanchez, Tello and others
