It's related to the argument about internet 'RIP' threads.
Neither individual is known in any way to most RIPers. But one was on their TV more often than the other in recent years. So the public and media in general therefore prefer to show respect/point out their anguish/write RIP on the internet/display how respectful and sorrowful they are as an individual/media organisation towards the man who is on TV more.
Funny way to look at it in my view because what it is really saying is that both are strangers to the majority of us but one is more worthy of respect - not that I think that writing RIP on the internet is indicative of any sort of genuine respect, but many do - purely because they are on TV more.
That's the way grief culture works. It's not about proper grief towards the person involved, it's about showing others that you 'respect' and displaying it in a public way, even though the issue probably has no impact whatsoever on you or anyone you know.
(In fairness though, the shock of Speed's death will have also played a part. Ablett was known to be ill - although I doubt many internet RIPers and media ghouls will have given him a second thought during his illness)

If you actually care,go and find out his charity of choice and make a donation in his name, which would be a fitting way to honour his memory; posting RIP in a thread in a City internet forum is meaningless lazy drivel.
