Gary Ablett

Damocles, you've missed the point twice already in this thread. The issue isn't RIP threads, or whether they're sincere, or any of that. The issue is that it wasn't the time or place to make one of your painfully unfunny "jokes", and I think you know that now, hence your wriggling out of it with a rant about RIP threads. You cocked up, you look silly, and despite the groundswell of disapproval it's provoked, you don't have the stones to admit it.

Gary Ablett RIP

Just heard that Gary Ablett passed away earlier today after a batle against cancer, played for both Liverpool clubs and was still in his 40's.

Maybe the dippers can show some class for once and wear tee-shirts remembering him rather than supporting Suarez..

Re: Gary Ablett RIP

Put's everything into perspective...

Next time we fail to win, people should have a reality check...

A sad day indeed.

RIP

Re: Gary Ablett RIP

The reaction of the media and the footballing communtiy is interesting. Gary Speed took his own life which, whilst he must have had his own demons was a very selfish thing to do especially as he left a wife and young children behind to cope without him. Gary Ablett suffered a terrible illness which led to his death and again 2 young children are left behind but I have yet to see the same outpouring of grief, the tears, the interviews with retired no marks desperate for 2 minutes on the radio, a comment fom Mr racist/sexist Blatter and as far as iI am aware, no minutes silence/applause at an of todays games. I find it very strange. I expect to get flack for my cynical take on it but my thoughts go out to Abletts family

I know why but I would never post it on the internet. His kids have enough to cope with.
