Just got my new energy prices through


Current prices until 30 September 2022 New prices from 1 October 2022

Electricity Standing Charge (per day) from 25.015 p to 23.518 p
Day Unit Rate (per kWh) from 32.755 p to 41.615 p
Night Unit Rate (per kWh) from 17.661 p to 15.635 p

Gas Standing Charge (per day) from 13.785 p to 10.085 p
Unit Rate (per kWh) from 7.343 p to 10.326 p

Who are you with mate and is this a fixed deal that’s been altered?

Perhaps any freezing of costs should have started with reducing taxation of the energy. The Gov is collecting much more vat etc than it budgeted for.

Voted Labour all my 34 years of voting
But don't agree with the money going straight into people's bank accounts. Too many people have there priorities wrong.
 
Just had email from Octopus. They do seem to be doing more than most to alleviate the problems.

'We’re reducing our standing charges a further 4% from the Government discounted level – I
wish it could be more, but in times like these it’s only right to direct as much help as possible to
those less fortunate. We’ve also stopped advertising on TV, bus stops, train stations, sports
arenas and online, and are redirecting all these funds to help customers who are struggling.'

You’re on a PAYG mate, do you know if your standing charges are coming down ?
Mine are currently :-
Gas
Standard (PP) unit rate 10.605p per kWh
Standing charge 37.50

Electricity:-

Standard (PP) unit rate 32.510p per kWh
Standing charge 48.32
