Gazza

Just seen him on that new (?) Umbro ad. Christ; he looks badly shook. Absolutely fantastic player, but a fucking idiot off the pitch. I guess he had too many gobshites around him and he was too gullible.

Self pitying apologists are never going to be too enamored by the people at large. I seen a small part of Gascoigne's talk with Piers Morgan and he got very dismayed and swore when reminded of the copious amounts he was drinking. He has a dangerous problem, of course, only the heartless would have no sympathy, he is definitely the personification of an addictive personality but he has to take stock, seek proper assistance and say no to the alcohol, even when offered by friendly enthusiasts. No one would force drink down his throat, he has to refute the offer and he has to be responsible for himself and those that genuinely care for him. Remembering his football, he was a gob stopping talent, one who made you wonder what would happen next, he has the ball, anything could happen with the ball at his feet, providing stupendous memories for football fans .

Then I seen Graham Taylor pontificating and pointing out the "pitfalls" of managing England on some management programme. A bloke elevated ridiculously above his ability to manage England. The rubbish he came out with made you think for goodness sake Graham, have a drink and be thankful the F.A. were incompetent enough to appoint you in the first place and give you a handsome salary.

Fuck Gazza these days. I'd be mates with Raoul Moat too. Not.

Apparently, it was a full time job keeping him occupied during tournaments. Bobby Robson said in his book he normally had someone keeping an eye on him. During Italia 90, he was left alone for five minutes, everybody was relaxing by the pool. Gazza turns up covered head to toe in toilet roll and dives in.

Really sad what has become of him. He was the one player that I felt privileged to see score against City. I almost broke into applause when he scored for Spurs at Maine Road. Absolutely loved the bloke during his playing days.

His goals against Scotland, Arsenal, a few in Scotland for Rangers and some for Lazio live long in the memory.

Was that the game when he did donkey ears towards lakey?

very sad to see how he is now. He is a sign of the times and now I think clubs protect their players more.

saw gazza play for everton in a friendly at plymouth at home park. locals started queueing at 5pm for a 7.30 kick off and when he scored the whole crowd of about 15,000 rose to applaud him. sadly his off the field exploits overshadowed those on it. watching him lately in bournemouth round the crescent in boscome you would hardly believe it was the same man.

He is absolutely knackered. His recent bout of Pnuemonia hasn't helped along with his mental problems as well. Everybody tried to help him but it obviously hasn't helped him. World class player on his day.
