The BBC photo-shopped a picture of Corbyn wearing a Russian ushanka instead of a berret, went on about him "not bending down far enough" at the cenotaph, and accused him of being a spy for a country that hasn't existed for twenty years or a member of a paramilitary group.

When anything happens with the Windsors the presenters gush about how pretty they are, and oh Liz must be getting tired from standing and waving at people, are those facts or opinions?

A large number of it's political & news staff have former involvement with the Conservative Party at various levels, and some have gone in reverse and worked for them after leaving.

Yet people will claim it is a left wing channel...

Its clear you are ;-)

Left wing that is.

This will be interesting. I think the underserved and unheard people of this island are moderates. Normal socialists with rational socialist views, normal liberals with rational liberal views, as well as balanced capitalists with rational capitalist views.

The groups of people who’ve had far too much of a voice and influence on this country over the last decade are the crackpot army of permanently offended tossers who see offence, discrimination and oppression in everything they look at; neo-Liberals (a very misunderstood term - neo-Liberalism relates to liberalising banking so bankers can do what the fuck they want, Thatcher was a neo-Liberal for example); crackpot far right racist tossers; and those who vehemently spout opposition and ridicule to anything they think isn’t their way of thinking, even if it’s moderate.

They’ve all been given too much of a platform and we are seeing too much division and hatred as a result.

It’d be nice if moderates, who seem to have no real platform anymore, get a platform with this.

Ferrari
Hartley-Brewer
Rachel Johnson

All being courted to anchor the Gammon News Network.
Normally I try and see past an interviewers own politics if they are able to and are good at their job - Andrew Neil and Nick Ferrari I enjoy even if I don't like their politics. That line up is hopelessly abandoning any attempt at balance though.

Ferrari is good in his role as a radio talkshow DJ who plays to a certain audience but his style and politics detract from his interviewing ability.

Hardtalk is the best adversarial format and and all the presenters come across far better even though they are playing devil's advocate. By putting your own views at the forefront you actually detract from the interview.

Ferrari is the perfect porcine to play old John Bull and insert his nasty nationalist views into the discussions on Gammon news network.

I suppose Rachel Johnson is the balance.

Is she? - Showing my own ignorance, I assumed she'd be fairly rw?

She was lead candidate for Tinge UK in the EU elections. She was a lib dem member before that and before that a Conservative. Now independent. Sounds like just a grifter like her dad and older brother tbh.

I thought of typing something clever about her being the balance but couldn't be arsed. Thing is if you were to deliberately assemble a news network of a cross section of diverse races and gender/sexual identities you would probably find more talented presenters and produce better and more interesting programmes than the gammon news network.

I wonder how many of the middle aged and OAPs are gonna tune into watch their views reflected back at them. Is it going to be a subscription based model?
