How many fuckiing times do the manager, players and FA have to say why they take a knee before you underfuckingstand?
so the fa came up with the gesture, or was it imported from america by the blm organisation, you know, the organisation that encouraged riots, looting, toppling statues, defunding the police etc, now do you underfuckingstand why not everybody is behind the gesture?

It was imported from the blm movement, there is no centralised organisation. There are facets within the movement that are trying to use it to achieve political aims, but I’m sure you wouldn’t denounce the whole civil rights movement because of some of the methods of the Black Panthers would you?

There's no such thing as the BLM organisation.

It is a slogan that has inspired numerous disparate groups to form that share some aims, however it is not a centralised organisation that has published a manifesto. You seem to have confused the general BLM movement with one or two of the more extreme elements that have adopted the slogan as cover for their unlawful activities. It's like saying everyone who waves an England flag is a member of the EDL.

who cares where it's from

- the manager and players are doing it to show support against discrimination and racism, they've clearly explained this is the only reason they are doing it.

so anyone trying to tell us different are ignorant fools.

Wait til you find out that the hymn “Glorious things of thee are spoken” is sung to the tune of the German national anthem.

I can only imagine the level of booing you’d reach in the church.

Bold of you to assume every white person is being gas-lighted, rather than just happening to agree with the gesture.

Also nice of you assume every footballer is too thick to have any understanding of anti-racist movements and just does as they are told.

Props on the drive by shooting of climate activists. Probably not the best of timing considering a Canadian village was incinerated in a heatwave that set record temperatures last week.
I'm not assuming that every white person is being gas-lighted and I don't disagree with the gesture at all, I said it's a powerful symbol for black people. What I question is the messaging around taking the knee and the endless political narrative that surrounds it, particularly with respect to whether someone feels they need to take the knee or not.

It's okay to show solidarity but at the moment showing that you are showing solidarity is seemingly more important than actually ending racism. You are for example defending footballers taking the knee but you fail to consider the moral irony given most of these footballers take the knee but then happily take sponsorship money from companies like Nike who employ child slave labour.

There are some footballers like Rashford who are raising real issues and doing real things about them, that's what we should be celebrating. So if you ask me, should I care that footballers take the knee and then go home to count their money? No I really don't care because it makes no difference.

It's fairly similar with climate activism which ultimately has not done anything to solve climate change. The UK's CO2 output like I said is falling and continues to fall but this narrative naturally does not suit the politics so it doesn't get mentioned.

headmaster used to have us sing that fucker during assembly in the 60s while he thrashed it out on the piano

It's making a huge difference, it's got people talking, it's got companies taking a look at there employment policies, online social media companies are taking a stronger stance against racism - more and more TV stations, sports are taking racism way more seriously than ever before.

Oh dear, you might get away with this pathetic narrative if it hadn't been used time and time again. Take a look at this clip, it's from the movie Selma and Tim Roth, playing George Wallace, explains why he won't allow blacks to vote in his state.

I could find you numerous clips from right wing commentators today doing the same, banging on about BLM Marxism and defund the police whataboutism, all of it nothing more than noise to avoid the elephant in the room.....Racism.

By engaging in all your peripheral bullshit you might genuinely believe you're not a racist, but by giving cover to the racists by your constant obfuscation, by your deliberate avoidance of what my dad used to call "the bleedin obvious", you might as well be, because with you nothing changes.

Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation Inc. have acquired the blacklivesmatter.com web address. As has already been stated most people who support the BLM movement have no affiliation to that organisation, and until I looked it up had never heard of it. B&Q's website is diy.com. It doesn't mean that Screwfix is the same as B&Q even though they provide a similar service.

Seems that if you stand up to racism it's because someone told you too.

People and companies have a moral right to do this anyway, why do they need to be told or signalled? Clearly if anti-racism requires this sort of constant messaging then we must all really be completely bankrupt and lost. It's almost like we are all sinners and taking the knee is our weekly form of confession which absolves us all of our sins, if you don't then you must be a closet racist.

Again I come back to Rashford (one red I really respect) but he has done far more for the anti-racist movement than any of this imported BLM stuff has. He is indeed politically involved but he has a right to be because unlike most he is actually doing something towards pushing the movement and many other issues forwards beyond politics.
