I think the mehness of the outcome is partly because it was known all the way through that Labour were going to win.

Maybe it'll turn out to not be a bad thing - they'll know they're not especially loved, and might improve their standing if they do a good job.
 
Labour win because of a backlash by Conservative voters.

Labour will be in power with the lowest percentage of the popular vote ever by a single majority party.

Only one election since 1885 (2001) has had a lower turnout.

Labour in by default.
Still in though, which is a lot better than having the tories stay in.

FPtP is a dire voting system but we have it so you take the victory despite the margins
