Not if they pass an October 15th GE on Monday - sorry for the repeat. The new extension was carried with a 27 vote majority, if the rebels reverse their vote - which they should do with the assurance from their PM that the election date will not be changed - that will enable the passage of a one clause/simple majority election bill and defeat any amendments. There is no good reason now for any Tories to give the Brexit Party an advantage - really baffled why none of the army of political pundits has pointed this out yet, their story is just Boris snookered when really nothing has changed.
Needs a two thirds majority doesn't it (no chance) or are you saying this will be done by a new law ( again no chance because isn't Tuesday the last day for an October 15 election).

Wonder if he now regrets shutting down parliament as Monday is his last chance and as you say thats no chance at all he can get two thirds.

The FTPA motion won't get to the threshold but a single clause, simple majority bill could pass if the rebels oblige by acceptng BoJo's olive branch, as waved in his interview today. Tight timescale but prorogation might even be delayed to get it through both Houses if required.

Why would any one of them do anything for him? he would have to cancel it at the very least and even then..

By Tuesday? That's not tight that's impossible.
(On delaying prorogation wouldn't that have to be approved by Liz,could be tricky).

Funny how things come back to bite you isn't it. Had he not prorogued parliament for 5 weeks perhaps the no deal prevention bill might not have been drafted and he may well have got his general election.
His desperate attempts to run down the clock have well and truly bitten him on the arse

I think they'd justify it in terms of self-interest - countering the threat from the Brexit Party. They've got their second referendum on the No Deal issue - why damage their party for no good reason and disappoint their voters further?
