Far right????It's hyperbolic to say Boris ran on a nationalist, far right platform?

You mean the Michael Foot who was up against a leader who had just won a war? Yes, it beggars belief.
Far right????
The Scots separatists are the ones who are going to be severely weakened - to the point of extinction - post Brexit.Fuck me, you never learn, Britain severely weakened?
I wondered why on earth anyone could possibly believe a person like Corbyn would benefit Labour, but it now no longer surprises me.
True but it's a national election for comparison not an England, Wales & NI election. I suppose he could blame Ed Milliband for not handling the IndyRef well enough and losing their Scottish voter base.Corbyn may have won more in England/Wales than Foot, I don't know exactly. The Scottish political landscape has changed quite a lot since then, so it's hardly like-for-like.
Not that makes it a good result, of course.
I’m probably similar age to you as 79 was the first election I voted in. I was always a Labour voter, I liked Dennis Healey, Neil Kinnock and John Smith. The party was going nowhere until Tony Blair came along, he had some decent policies but Gordon Brown undermined him and since then it’s been an absolute shambles. After 19 years of Tory rule I was happyish when Blair won, I dare say if Johnson is dethroned in 5 years by someone similar I'll take it.
But things are broken in the capitalist system and it seems incapable of dealing with the environment, as well as the loss of jobs due to technological change.
The "Honest Broker" tactic... a complete disasterCorbyn is pro brexit?
Yeah, WE know that, but the message from the party and him was "i'm 'neutral', and the rest of the Labour party will back remain in an 2nd referendum".
That mixed message simply did not resonate with leave voters, at all.

Deckchair count on the Titanic - supremely irrelevant. There are zero consolations only harsh learning points which will continue to be unheeded by the hard left who are still firmly in control of the party selection apparatus.Corbyn may have won more in England/Wales than Foot, I don't know exactly.
